Aubree smiled as Rhys passed her the salad bowl. She mixed everything she had prepared and added the sauce Rhys had prepared. Rhys waited as Aubree tasted it. Her eyes widened in surprise. "This tastes amazing, Rhys."

"Thank you. We can make the falafel plate." Aubree nodded. Elwen, who took the responsibility of making the chicken kebab, turned around. "Are you two done with the salad?"

"Yes, we will start preparing the falafel plates."

"Great." Rhys and Aubree moved around the space, making the falafel plates. Outside, Nikolai and Ryder were making momos. At the same time, others were cleaning the house. Angel has left for the vacation with her parents.

Xaiden left in the morning to be there for his practice season. Ezarah was supposed to leave with her parents, but at the last minute, she decided to stay back and spend time with everyone. Right now, she's in the room cleaning her bed.

Rowen walked into the kitchen. "Hey, Princess. Whose turn is it to wash the dishes today?" he asked, stopping at the breakfast table. Aubree played the knife on the island and faced him. "Kreo, Kenric and Ezarah."

"Ezarah?"

"She didn't want to help in cooking. We switched places."

"Cool." Rowen's gaze went to Rhys, who was standing beside Elwen. He smiled at him before leaving the kitchen. Rowen isn't sure if something is going on between Rhys and Aubree. For some reason, his chest feels heavy whenever he looks at Aubree and Rhys. Aubree genuinely looked happy and calm whenever Rhys was around her.

He shook his head, frustration etched across his features, and approached where Kai was sitting, an air of uncertainty hanging around him. Although Angel and Kai felt jittery, Rowen found it impossible to distance himself from Kai. They had been inseparable since childhood, their bond forged through countless shared memories and experiences.

Rowen felt like punching Kai at times for the pain he had caused Angel, yet deep within him, he recognized the truth: Kai hadn't intentionally hurt her. With his kind heart and unwavering loyalty, Kai had always been a good man and a steadfast friend. Above all, he was Rowen's best friend—someone he couldn't just abandon, no matter the circumstances.

Kai stared at him after putting his phone away. "What happened?"

"Nothing." Kai raised a brow. "You went in there to help Aubree. Why did you return so quickly?" Rowen leaned back and picked up the resting pillow. "Rhys is helping them."

Kai laughed but didn't say anything. They stayed quiet and watched the movie playing on the screen. Once they finished their work, they joined the living area. "Hey, Xahria," Kai called out.

"Yeah?"

"So this Rhys guy is dating Aubree?" Xahria turned to him, a playful glint in her eyes, before glancing at Rowen, who sat beside Kai, eager for her response. Instead of answering, she shrugged casually, smirking, and turned away, leaving them hanging.

"What am I supposed to conclude from that?" Kai asked. "I don't know. They aren't saying anything about their labels. Yet. I have no idea, but I would be happy if she could date the guy. The guy is sweet."
