The next day, Jungkook was subconsciously looking for the black haired omega. He was craving another whiff of his scent like it was his new drug. Jungkook wouldn't have to talk to him or spend time with him, no. He just wanted to smell him, even if it was just for a second.

Yesterday, Jimin's scent faded way to quickly for his liking and he couldn't stop thinking about smelling it again, still remembering how intense, calming and soothing he felt while inhaling this special gardenia-vanilla fragrance. He already felt addicted to the feeling only Jimin's scent could give him.

Though he knew that omegas and alphas were divided in two different buildings, he was still hoping that he would get a glimpse of the older boy on the schoolyard.

But for three whole days, Jungkook didn't see Jimin, nor smelled his heavenly scent. Every day he grew more frustrated. His mood was off and he didn't know what to do with himself. For the first time, the little alpha made the acquaintance with this hollow feeling expanding in his stomach, leaving him restless, dissatisfied and yearning.

On the forth day, he was halfheartedly playing with a few other alphas of his class, when he saw that beta boy, Taehyung, who was being so protective over Jimin the other day.

Tae Tae, he'd called him, his best friend since basically forever.

He was walking across the schoolyard, along with some other betas and omegas.

Jungkook was confused and also internally crushed when he realized that Jimin wasn't amongst them.

Taehyung's head was hanging low, he was mindlessly kicking some branches and stones away from him, and it seemed like the other kids were trying to cheer him up.

Something about this whole situation didn't feel right to Jungkook and before he knew it, he was walking towards them, only stopping once he was standing right in front of Taehyung.

The kids were all Jimin's age, and they were looking at Jungkook like they had just seen an alien. But Taehyung... he was staring him down like he wanted to kill him and Jungkook was getting more anxious with every passing second.

»Hey, u-uhm... where is Jimin?«

»As you can see, he's not here. And he's not coming back either. And guess who's fault it is.«

Jungkook blinked, his heart was sinking lower and lower with every sentence, slightly shrinking under Taehyung's ice cold stare, even though he was only a beta.

»He's... n-not coming back?«

Taehyung just scoffed. »Don't act all innocent now! You alphas just think you own this place, don't you? First you injure him, then you have the audacity to scent him? What's wrong with you?«

»Seriously, stay away from us, you animal,« another kid, an omega, joined the spiteful rant, looking askance at Jungkook, who's eyes were the size of marbles by now, wide in shock and disbelieve, his lips parted.

Jungkook didn't understand how a moment of bliss was twisted into something so wrong, something so forbidden. He couldn't help but wonder—

What did Jimin tell them?

In the blink of an eye, while hurt and disappoint was still churning in his stomach, something else arose as well; his pride.

»I didn't want to hurt him! And he enjoyed the scenting!«

»Yeah, that's easy for you to say, since you manipulated him with your stinking alpha pheromones!«

Manipulated?

If anything he had felt just as powerless and enchanted by the older boy's fragrance. The scenting had felt instinctual, out of his control. And now they tried to make him look like a monster? Like it was completely onesided?

Jungkook started to become angry, his hands forming into fists. »I didn't do anything he didn't want to!«

»Oh yeah? I doubt he wanted open wounded knees and palms, you brat!«

A pang of guild rushed through Jungkook's body and for a second he didn't know what to say, which only gave Taehyung the chance to further let his temper out on the callow alpha.

»He came back almost in a trance, reeking of your alpha scent! He couldn't even tell me what really happened to him! You completely brainwashed him! And you're trying to tell me he wanted that? Huh? Your scent didn't wash off of him for two whole days and his parents were worried sick because he wouldn't speak!«

Jungkook couldn't believe what he was hearing, all he could feel was guilt and the overwhelming shame of having done something terrible and absolutely wrong, whereas to him, only a few seconds ago, nothing had ever felt so right.

Taehyung kept going, saying something about Jimin's parents forcing the omega to change schools, but a high-pitched ringing in his ear made every other word he spoke sound far away. He almost felt like crying, but he was in a state of blank shock.

Someone protectively positioned himself in front of him and only when he heard a familiar voice, Jungkook came back to reality. »Stop yelling at him like a damn maniac!«

It was Yoongi, an alpha like himself, and the only one he would call a friend, even though he was a year older than Jungkook.

»Better stay away from us, alpha

»Same counts for you, omega

»I'm a beta, you idiot.«

»You sure? Because you're acting like a crazy bitch right now.«

Jungkook pulled Yoongi back by his T-Shirt. »Yoongi-hyung, don't. They aren't worth it.«

The older alpha huffed, but after a short staring contest with Taehyung, he eventually turned his back on them.

They walked back to their friends who immediately wanted to know what happened.

Yoongi was doing all the talking, even though he didn't know the whole story. But the young alpha felt too weak to even say a word. His thoughts were running wild.

When did it all go so wrong? He never wanted to hurt that omega. He was replaying every moment in his head, searching for a hint that he might really have gone too far. He didn't find one. Everything was consensual, wasn't it?

But now Jimin changed schools and he wasn't coming back and that fact alone did things to him he never felt before. His heart felt bruised, he was feeling sick to the stomach and his head was hurting.

And all because he let that omega walk him back to school. All because he smelled so damn good. All because he couldn't control his alpha.

From this day on, Jungkook swore to himself, he would never come near an omega ever again.

His parents were right, after all. Omegas were nothing but devious, ungrateful snakes, turning against alpha for no reason, always finding faults and making them look like the bad guys.
