Odessa POV
'We get to meet our mate today.' My wolf says to me, as I get dressed for school.
'If he is even from around here.' Is my reply to her. I head down to breakfast. I get to the dining room and see my mom with a plate of pancakes. 'Those for me?' I link her. She nods her head and sits them down. I walk up and hug her, then sit down and eat. 'Bye mom, see you after school.' I link on my way out. I get to school and the halls are full of kids. I make my way to my locker avoiding as many as I can. I get my books that I need out and close my locker, then I walk to class. As I am sitting there waiting for class to begin I smell it. Apples and leather, my wolf purrs in my head. 'Mate.' I look up and see Gavin Cruise, is standing there staring at me. I look away from him, not feeling any kind of pull. I feel someone sit next to me and look.
"Mr. Cruise go to your seat." I hear Mr. Gregory say. "Odessa come up here and take my desk." He says when Gavin doesn't move. I stand up and do as he said. As I get up to him he pulls out his chair and as I sit he pushes it back in. I look down on his desk and see today's lesson plan. I look it over as he talks to the other students. I get to the last page and read it twice. Stay in here after class. I look up and see him looking at me. I nod my head to him. Then I look towards Gavin. He is sitting there staring at me. I notice the others get up and leave the room. I stay where I am, so does Gavin. "Mr. Cruise you need to move along."
"I will go when she goes." He tells him.
"Unlike you she has study hall next class. I have already informed the teacher she will be late getting there. Now go to your next class." He says with an edge I have never heard in his voice. I watch as he listens to him and leaves. Then I take a deep breath that's when I realize the smell is still in the room. I look up and see Mr. Gregory looking at me. That's when it hits me, he is my mate. I shake my head. He is only a few years older than me. I still have scars from what he did to me as kids. He is the reason I cannot talk. "Finally realize did you." He says, walking over and closing then locking the door.
I feel the chair moving and brace myself for whatever is to come.
Taylor POV
As I pull out the chair I think of what to say. I have tortured her our entire lives. I don't deserve her as my mate. She grabs a pencil and starts to write. Reject me is written on the paper. "Never, but here is what's going to happen." I tell her as I pull her up out of my chair. "You are to stay away from other males. When I take over for my father you will be my Luna, seeing as how you can not reject me." I say as I bend towards her neck. She starts to back up. I wrap my arms around her waist pulling her into me. "This might hurt." I tell her, as I bite her, marking her. I know it is going to hurt like hell. Forced markings always do. But I know she will never agree to my mark on her. After I finish marking her I link the principal. 'I am taking Odessa Long home.'
'Yes Alpha.' He replies.
I pick her up and leave the school and drive her to her place. Once we are there I take her inside and see her parents and brothers. He oldest brother walks over to me and tries to take her. He looks at her neck then at me. "She would never agree to that." He says shaking.
"Which is why she is unconscious." Is my reply, as I start towards the stairs. "She still in the same room as when we were kids?" I ask, as he cuts me off again.
"Give me my sister, and get out." He says using his own unique alpha tone.
"Go try and intimidate someone else." I say as I start up the stairs. I get to the door I remember as hers and open it. I walk her over and lay her down on the bed. That's when I smell it, Gavin's scent is in here. It's faded but here. I go back down and see him standing with her family. "What is your smell doing in her room?" I snarl at him.
"Gavin go on up and make sure my daughter is okay." Her father says.
"He takes one step towards the stair and I will kill him." I growl, watching him.
"You leave my pack house." Her father tells me. "You lost any rights to be here when you hurt my daughter the last time."
"I am her mate. I gained my rights back to be anywhere she is." I tell him looking away from the boy. When I look back he is gone. I go to take off up the stairs when her dad and both brothers grab me.
"Let them be. He makes her happy, you just scare her. Forcing a mate mark isn't wise." Her dad says.
"She is mine, the boy is dead if he touches her." I say, right before they let me go. I see him standing at the top of the stairs. He starts down them.
"Alpha, I tried but can't." He tells her father. It takes me a minute to figure out what he is talking about.
"You cannot remove my mark. I am her mate and an Alpha." I say, walking up the stairs. I go to her room to see what he had tried. I see a bite mark on the other side of her neck.
'He tried to mark our mate.' My wolf says. I turn and walk down the stairs. He is gone.
"He isn't to go near her again." I snarl at her family. Then I walk out the door slamming it behind me.
