Rachel and I met back up and went out into her car, the boys following behind. Again, Xavier wasn't with the rest of them. Jasper and Trey went in one car, and Danny and Riley went in their own separate cars.
As soon as Danny pulled out, Rachel followed close behind. I turned up her radio, some probably popular and upbeat song filling my ears.
"What time do you have to be back again?" She asked.
"Anytime before 6."
"Oh lord. Is that the time you wake up every morning?"
"Yeah, you could never," I said, laughing.
She laughed too, "Excuse me, I've done it once or twice I'm sure."
"Yeah, like whenever there's limited exclusive items being sold." I joked, even though it really wasn't that much of a joke.
She continued to laugh, knowing what I said had truth to it. "Anyways, I'll probably have you back before 4 or 5."
I nodded my head in agreement and checked my phone, seeing that it was almost 12 am. I wasn't that tired, I always had problems when trying to fall asleep. I'd probably still lie awake all night when I got back, like I do normally.
The car ride lasted only about 15 minutes until Danny began to parallel park on the side of the street. Rachel drove a little further and found another spot to parallel park in.
We got out of the car and caught up to Danny and Riley. After a minute or so of walking, Blaise and Jasper yelled out for us to wait up for them. We turned around and waited as they jogged up to the part of the side walk we were on. I noticed my feet were beginning to hurt, I haven't worn heels for this long in ages. I lifted up my foot and stretched it back.
"Are you alright?" Riley asked me, seeming genuinely concerned.
"Oh yeah, it's just these heels are hurting my feet a bit, that's all." I replied, shocked at how nice he was being.
The others weren't listening to our conversation, as they were carrying out their own conversations amongst themselves as we continued to walk down the sidewalk to the party
"Oh wow. I'm sorry, you want me to carry you the rest of the way?"
My eyes widened, as I waited for him to laugh it off as a joke. This boy was so random. I didn't understand how to take it.
"No no, I'll be okay. I'm a big girl." I answered, half genuinely laughing and half nervously laughing.
"Alright, you're missing out, you'd be surprised how many people ask me to carry them everyday..." He joked.
I giggled, "Oh really? Maybe another time then, when we're not complete strangers." I said as confidently as I could. Was I flirting? Maybe..but it felt good to have a little bit of flirty chat after so long.
"You do make a good point. Here, at least take my arm." He said, sweetly, extending his tanned, muscled arm.
"Okay," I said, smiling, and blushing a bit, but you couldn't tell because of how dark it was outside. I wrapped my arm around his, instantly feeling the warmth of his skin against mine. It was probably just my mind playing tricks on me, but I thought I felt some sort of tingling sensation in my arm when it intertwined with his.
As we approached the house and made out way inside, both Danny and Rachel noticed Riley and my arms. They both reacted in very different ways. My brother furrowed his eyebrows a bit and looked at Riley. Rachel gave me a wide-eyed look, shifting her eyes from Riley back to me, smirking slightly. She probably loved seeing me out of my comfort zone all on my own. Shortly after they noticed, we let go of our arms, and put them back down by our side.
