DR SHEPHERD
Did I interrupt again? I can come back after my surgery.
She nodded toward Andy - who had her back turned to Robert and Dr Shepherd so that they couldn't see her wiping her tears away.

ROBERT
No, your timing is perfect actually. I'm worried about my wife, she insists that her dead mother is alive. I was hoping you could do a quick consult.
The doctor raised an eyebrow at Robert then turned back to look at Andrea.

DR SHEPHERD
Robert, I'm not sure that I have a say in this. I thi-

ROBERT
Please, can't you just ask her a few questions and tell me what you think?
Dr Shepherd sighed and took a minute to observe the room. She looked at Andy, then at Robert, and back to Andy. She could feel the tension between the couple. As much as she wanted to say no, she knew Robert needed his wife's support in order to make a full recovery.

DR SHEPHERD
Fine, but I'm only doing this because you need her by your side. Don't go picking fights with her.
She walked over and placed her hand on Andy's shoulder.
Andy, why don't we-

ANDY
It's Sullivan-
Andy rolled her eyes and turned to face the surgeon.

DR SHEPHERD
I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand.

ANDY
Sullivan, call me Mrs. Sullivan, only my friends get to call me Andy. You've just made it very clear that we aren't friends, so you can call me Mrs. Sullivan.
Dr Shepherd couldn't tell if this was the grief talking or if Andy was just being a b*tch. Robert, on the other hand, felt very proud. He and Andy had never gotten the chance to discuss whether she'd be taking his last name or not. Her telling Amelia to call her Mrs. Sullivan gave him hope that they would get through this.

DR SHEPHERD
Okay . . . well, Mrs. Sullivan, we could go to the plant room and talk, or maybe the-

ANDY
We can talk right here.
Andy looked in Robert's direction then lowered her voice.
I want . . . I just need my husband to listen to me.
The two women made eye contact. It was a simple action, but it was enough to convince Dr Shepherd that Andy was telling the truth. She didn't know why, but she didn't need to hear the full story. She could tell from the look in Andy's eyes that Elena was indeed alive.
