Dan's POV
I sit in total silence as the classroom fills with students, I really hate it when this happens as I much prefer those quick 30 seconds alone in the room before anyone else arrives. This period I have Geography and I don't care too much about this subject really however this lesson, luckily, is the one before lunch. My seat is at the very back of the classroom in the corner so I can at least enjoy the time alone when im in this class, the seat beside me is empty as everyone refused to sit beside me.

As you can probablly tell, im not the most liked person in my school...well i'm not liked by anyone acctually other than the teachers but I think they just pity me. I hate that. Just because; no one likes me, I have no friends, I am always alone, im beaten up and im probablly the biggest loser ever; doesn't mean I need anyone's sympathy or pity. It makes me feel weak. Useless.

Anyway, back to the classroom. By this point my classroom is full and im just counting down for it to be over. I hold my pen in my hand gently and start to doodle down the margin of the clean page in my Geography book. An unfamiliar noise makes me jump and look up, the chair next to me had been pulled out from under the desk and someone's bags were dropped under the table. Someone was sitting next to me. Who would ever sit there? Next to me...

"Hello!" The boy grins at me as he sits down, getting his book out. "Im Phil! What's your name?" He held out his hand towards me but I look down to avoid talking to him. Out the corner of my eye I could see the disappointment on the boy's pale face. His blue eyes lost a their slight spakle as he opens his book and grabs his pen.

After a few minutes of completly awkward silence, I sit back but keep my eyes down at my book. "Dan." My voice was quieter than I had expected it to be. As I look up I make eye contact with Phil, a smile was upon his face again. "Why have you sat next to me..?" I whisper, shifting slightly in my seat. There were so many other empty seats in the classroom yet he chose to sit beside me.

I sit in silence as I watch the boy look around the room before he looks back into my eyes. Somehow his bright, shining eyes allow me to get lost just staring into them. "You look like a cool guy so...here I am!" he chuckles, showing off his white teeth which were pretty much perfect. I smile and chuckle a little to, my chocolate-coloured eyes searching his face. As I look at him, his cheeks flush a soft shade of pink "I-um...well it's nice to meet you, Dan!" he smiles once again before looking at the teacher as she begins to talk.

For the entirity of the lesson I sit there, not listening to the teacher but just admiring and gazing at Phil. I had never had a friend before and no one ever speaks to me. It felt amazing and he was amazing, we had only exchanged a few words but still, I wanted to be friends with him. I desperatly want to be friends with him!

"Dan!" Phil chuckles, clicking his fingers infront of my face. I jump a little and grab my exercise book in fright, making Phil laugh more. He was even perfect when he laughed, his face scrunched up gently and he stuck his tongue out ever-so slightly. "It's lunch, didn't you hear the bell?" Phil pulled his rucksack onto his back and smiled down at me. "Are you coming? I though I could hang out with you and your friends, if thats okay"

"I...um...yeah, sure." I say quickly and jam my book into my black backpack before slumping it onto my shoulder. "I normally hang out at the top of the field, under all the trees." At a gentle pace I walk out the classroom, my eyes flickering to the side slightly to see if Phil was acctually following me. He was. "That sounds awesome!" He grins as he follows me with a skip in his step.

Our conversations vary alot while we walk out the building and up the field. We discussed; Pokémon, Anime, Mario, internet, animals, food. Basically everything I love!

Phil looks round a little when we reach the small cluster of 6 trees and I drop my bag "Is this where you sit? Where is everyone?" he asks, putting down his galaxy bag gently onto the ground. "Well this is where I normally sit and these are the people I hang out with...-" I say with a gentle sigh before adding "-You haven't chosen the best guy to befriend, to be fair. No one likes me, so I don't mind if you want to vo hang out with someone else" With that I sit down against a tree, pulling out a notepad and a pencil from my bag.

I focus on my page as I start sketching soft lines. It certainly takes me for surpise when, out the corner of my eye, I see Phil sit down on the floor and lean on the tree opposite me. "Why would I go find anyone else? Dan, you are awesome! Obviously people just can't see it or you don't let them see it. Either way I am staying right here with you" His voice is soothing and relaxed yet he carried a cheerful twang to it.

I think, it's fair to say, I may have got my first ever friend! Hopefully he will want to stay friends..
