Change's Arrival

Chapter 1

Aizen Wright was born into a somewhat lovely family with a single mother and one younger brother, Lance. They often wondered about their missing father but always being reassured that one day there will be a knock on the door that marks their father’s return.

A majority of their childhood was spent with their friends goofing around all-day and bonding with the family. Aizen wasn’t pressured to do better despite being the oldest brother. Though he gave all his heart when it came to his studies, always aiming for the top. 

Years have gone by and Aizen has almost finished school. Most of his friends were still the same since they lived in a particularly small neighborhood. The Wright family was waiting for a letter that would approve Aizen’s entry to college, Lance was very proud and happy for Aizen.

Lance avowed with coherent exuberance “I’m really glad that you’re almost off to college, Aizen. I’m just a little sad that we’ll be far apart when you’ve moved out for college.”

“Don’t worry, we’ll catch up, I’ll visit from time to time,” Aizen replied, their mother, with contentment, added, “You two are real brothers-in-arms, keep it that way, some parents would beg for their children to have such a relationship like you two do,”. Then suddenly, an abrupt knock on the door stopped their conversation. They opened the door, a tall man was standing on their doorstep.

"Father!" thought the Wright brothers to themselves. The man handed out a letter. The family opened it and realized that Aizen and his brother has been drafted and were ordered to provide service to the armed forces. The family had no choice but to join since evading the draft would mean imprisonment for at least 5 years or having to pay a fine they could not afford.
