Begins the epic Saga of Mahabharata, offering oblation to Narayana the supreme Soul and Nara, the best human.

Arjuna, Narottam Arjuna
Narottam, best among men !
What defines a Hero? Why was that he was referred the best among men? And the central hero of Epic? If Krishna is the Soul, Arjuna forms the body of the Epic!
From a son, who lost his father on the beginning of his fourteenth year, begins his journey making the own identity, immortal in history!
Arjuna was not the same throughout, he evolved just as every man should, in an ideal context!
As a child who found astounded by Ekalavya's archery, to an unbothered teen who curtly rebuked the taunts thrown on him by Karna, to the one who wanted to be better than himself, with every passing moment, to the highly matured Arjuna who indulgently, addressed Uluka when humiliated. Arjuna shows the way, the whole of his life, to be better and better, to become the best among men.
(A/N contrary to the common perception, The concept of celestial weapons are regarded in high esteem those days, and are given to people who could control senses, and the Guru asses him before granting it. Lord Shiva Himself granted Mahapasupata after assessing Arjuna. Dronacharya refused to impart knowledge to Ekalavya for two major reason, one- he used the known knowledge, carelessly with a dog, what say if he learnt a higher weapon, he later turned out into Jarasandha's ally and got killed by Lord Krishna, and two-Drona was a salaried employee of Kurus, and taught to princes, who were allied to them. Karna, was also a student of Dronacharya, who later left the ashrama on being refused to be imparted Brahmastra, which he wanted to kill Arjuna. To be noted again acharyas imparted knowledge to ones who would not misuse it. This also could be quoted on instance where Ashwattama misuses Brahmastra, and was unable to withdraw for lack of sheer control over sense!)
Arjuna is an enigma and his introvertness added to his flavour!
Arjuna highly renowned as a skilled warrior had a blend of compassion to his valour. As a youth, who did not want the heir Yudhisthira dangered by participating in war and then, advising Bhima to not kill the soldiers and focus on capturing Drupad alone, as it was a demanded fee. Leaving a defeated Anjanaparva with his life and accepting him as a friend, and maganimously refused to accept anything in return as a gift for saving his life, until he could give something to him. Sheilding Maya who took his refugee in Khandava dahan, and yet again refusing to accept anything for himself in return and attributed everything to Krishna. To save Duryodhana at behest of Yudhisthira, even after all the humilations meted out, and to paradon Jayadratha. compassion was inseperable from him, forever.
He stands as the one who values the life of a thirsty and tired horse, even when his life was at stake because of his vow. He valued the horses serving him more than his life and fought from the ground without complaints.
When thirst for victory, consumed the warriors to extend fight after night, he stands as the one for dignity of the soldiers on both side, to call off the war, and suggests for their rest and leisure.
At the behest of Krishna, he rescued Satyaki valuing the dharma of warrior to save a life, than to follow the dharma of attacking an engaged warrior with an unconscious hero.
