Merida walked along the moonlit hallway, Mrs. Pots hopping along side her. Her heart thumping inside her chest as they neared the main hallway.
"This will be an unforgettable night for all of us dear. Don't be nervous, relaxed and have a great time. Just forget everything around you and focus what's in front of you." Mrs. Pots smiled at her before stopping at the main door, Clogsworth was already waiting and he smiled brightly as he looked at the girl.
"You looking magnificent lass."
"Thank you Clogsworth."
"Your welcome. Well as no further a do, I shall call out your arrival. Wait here for a moment."
Clogsworth joyfully waddled back to his master who anxiously stood waiting with Lumiere.
"Maybe this wasn't such a good idea. I don't think I can do this!"
"Come on lad, relax, I have everything cover. Everything is organized by yours truly."
Hiccup frowned at his remark he wasn't sure if he should be more nervous or be terrified.
"Ahem"
Hiccup and Lumiere turned around at the sudden sound. They saw Clogsworth standing with a big smile.
"Clogsworth!" Hiccup immediately looked up at the stairway but didn't see a familiar face. He turned to give Clogsworth a questioned looked.
"Anxious are we." Clogsworth chuckled.
"Where's the lass!?" Lumiere hopped in front of Clogsworth worriedly.
"Ah Yes. Your majesty, your lady awaits." Clogsworth bowed.
Hiccup heard small clanking from above and averted his gaze towards the new sound coming up the stairs. His eyes fell upon her, he felt his breath hitched as his eyes widened at the sight of her. The moon light reflected off her milky skin perfectly. She looked so radiant, elegant...beautiful.
She started to descend the stairs when Hiccup noticed his mother's crown on her head, a bit of nostalgia went through his body but left as quick when Merida was in front of him.
Merida looked up to him when she saw he hadn't said anything or even moved. She couldn't help but be nervous that Hiccup would be enraged that she had worn his mother's most important belonging.
"If...you're not comfortable with me wearing your..mother's crown..I can take it off.." Merida lowered her eyes avoiding the uncomfortable silence.
"No, it's alright, It actually makes me happy to see it be worn by someone important to me."
Merida finally looked up getting a good glimpse of Hiccup. He looked strikingly handsome just standing there with such attire and his crown. It hit her that he really was a king, a powerful King of this land she called home.
"It suits you beautifully actually..." Hiccup whispered softly.
"What?" Merida couldn't catch his last remark.
"Nothing, just thinking out loud."
The lass gave him a look in which he just cleared his throat.
" You...you look...." Hiccup filed every word he knew that would sound great and not make things awkward. Beautiful, stunning, pretty, no it sounds too basic! What do I use? He turn to look at Lumiere for guidance. The little candle man just waved his hand gesturing him to go with want he thinks best. Hiccup turn his attention back to Merida and once again cleared his throat.
"You look...good."
Lumiere facepalm his waxed faced disappointed at the lad's comment. That's the best he could do!
