Taehyun's POV

It is now past two in the morning when I got home from work. A thing came up making me hard to find the right time to leave. And of course, It's hard to go home by just commuting. As I made my way towards the gate, I noticed the empty-looking house. There was no light or anything that'll indicate someone's presence. I bet mom was already asleep by now. It's not like I'm not glad about it, it's just that I've been telling her the same things over and over again, but it seems like she doesn't understand a thing.

"Taehyun?"

My head snapped as a voice called me from the kitchen.

"Is that you?"

My feet moved, finding mom sitting near the counter with a glass of milk in her hands.

"Mom,", I sighed. "I told you, you don't have to wait for me. You should be asleep by now."

She smiled at me, "Have your milk."

This is our thing. We believed by drinking milk before going to bed will ease stress and make you more comfortable in bed, making you drift into slumber faster like there's no hint of obstacles. Plus, it is good for the bones.

"Mom, I told you a couple of times. Do not let the house without a light in it. It is not safe."

"It's too much of an electricity."

"I would rather work thinking that I'm in debt because of electricity bill than bailing you out on a hospital.", I quickly snapped into my senses and touched her hand, "I'm sorry.. I just want you to do the things that'll benefit your well-being especially whenever I'm not around."

"Arasso.", she messes my hair up, "Look at you, all being grown up. You worry about everything too much."

I grabbed her hands and looked at her directly in the eyes, "Mom, it is my duty to. You're alone in this house the whole day. You must be really careful by your own... now that dad's not around anymore."

Her smile decreased but maintained the remaining of it. It hurts to see her like this, but I didn't have a choice. I want every single thing regarding her safeness to get that in her head.

"Mom,", I called out. "Do you understand me?"

She nodded her head that made me hug her.

"I love you, mom."

"I love you Taehyun-ah. I'll be more remindful."

"I only want what's best for you.", I gave her a kiss on her cheek. "Let's get you tucked in bed."

After finishing my glass of milk, I gathered my things up and we both went upstairs. I remained on her side until she finishes her nightly routine, including our nightly prayers.

"Don't stay up too late, Tae."

My mouth curved into a smile, "I won't. Good night, mom. I love you so much."

"Good night."

I walked up to her T.V and was about to turn it off when she told me not to.

"Mom, you should sleep. It's now nearly three. Besides, Cinderella's already at the carousel with the Prince.", I pointed the cartoon out.

In the end, she let me go and went out faster than light. I made my way to my room and changed before sitting in front of my working desk to start my school works due tomorrow. Or should I say later?

A thought of mom bugged me, preventing me to work immediately. She's still onto Cinderella. Which only means she misses dad so much.

You see, dad and mom were high school lovers turned into lifetime partners. They met each other at the acquaintance ball with a Disney-themed, held at their school. She told me how she was dressed up as Cinderella while dad- on the other hand, dressed up as Prince Henry. Of course, that was unplanned. But anyhow, that's when their journey began. And just like in the movie, they also had three mice and they named it; Yeonjun, Beomgyu, and of course, me- Taehyun.
