Stay

"Say something that will make me stay" said Annalise, teary eyed. She was saying goodbye to her best friend, the only man that genuinely made her laugh, the only man that helped her get over her husband's death and the only man that she really loved. She didn't know what she had with Adrian but when she met for the last time with Rosie, she knew it wasn't love. She loved Rosie. And she had since she told him about her husband.

She was about to turn around when he finally said something, "Annalise" she turned around quickly and ran back into his arms before he could continue his sentence. He held her tight trying not to let the tears fall down his face. There was something between them, he loved her but he didn't want to ruin her. "Annalise" he said, "you should go with Adrian, it's better for you there." Letting herself out of his warm embrace and looking him in the eye one last time to make sure. Finally a tear fell from onto his cheek "goodbye Rosie" she said trying not to fall apart.

Before he knew it he had let the love of his life walk away. He had known she was the one for him but maybe he wasnt the one for her. She seemed happy with Adrian and he wanted her to stay like that. Plus, he knew that she couldn't lose another person she loves and with his heart condition there was a chance. 'Making her stay would be selfish of me, sometimes it is best to just let it go.' He thought. He needed to talk to someone, he couldn't handle being alone tonight so he grabbed his phone and dialed the number.

"Hello?" Said the voice he knew so familiarly "hey pip" he said. "Can we talk at my place?" "Yeah, I'll be there soon." "Okay bye."

Rosie drove home sad but also mad at himself for letting Annalise go. She wasnt just a partner to him, she was his best friend but he knew what was best. She is probably gonna be more happy once shes in LA with Adrian right?

Annalise drove home, uncontrollable tears streaming down her face. She thought back to the first time she actually opened up to Rosie, after their first case together. She told him "when you lose the love of your life, it makes you love life less." She loved Eddie but he wasn't the love of her life, neither was Adrian, it was Rosie. The man she was about to move halfway across the country from.

When she arrived at home, she ran straight to her room and slammed the door, ignoring everything else that was going on. Daisy, Ira, and Adrian were all celebrating about his new job offer that he was gonna take. Annalise drowned out everything and everyone. They were too cheery for her liking. After a minute someone entered the room. Of course it was Adrian, the last person she wanted to talk to in that moment.

"Hey, I know it's hard saying goodbye to your best friend." He said holding her. Villa was sad and he was there, Adrian was an amazing man. After holding her for a couple minutes, Annalise's breathing went back to normal speed and she stopped crying. "Come on, let's get some sleep, we have an early flight tomorrow" She agreed and went to sleep.

Rosie and Annalise's heads were filled with thoughts. Rosie sat in his living room telling Pippy all about what happened and how he felt about Annalise. Pippy's love life was doing great so he thought she would be the best one to talk to. Pippy said, "When TMI and I were separated, I felt so empty and alone. I never with that for you Rosie, if you can fix it do it soon before shes out of your life forever." Rosie took a while but finally convinced himself that he should go tell Annalise how he feels even though there was a chance she would be better off without him, he couldn't live one more day without her beautiful smile and breathtaking attitude.

After Pippy left, Rosie sat in his bed planning out how he was gonna tell Annalise but she was so special to him that no extravagant act was going to work. Instead he planned to keep it simple. He would walk into the airport as she was about to board her plane and hopefully she would forgive him and stay.

The next morning came very quickly for Annalise who woke up to her alarm at 5:00 AM when it all hit her. She had slept well surprisingly but she slept so well that for one second she forgot that today, she was leaving her life behind. Her and Adrian got their bags and said their goodbyes to Ira and Daisy before leaving for the airport. Annalise was silent the whole car ride but Adrian understood that it was gonna be hard for her until she adjusts to their new life. Adrian was madly in love with Annalise but he had started to sense that she loved Rosie a couple days before. The chemistry between the two couldn't be matched and Adrian knew that, but he was proud to admit it.

At this point, Annalise wondered why she was even sitting in the car with Adrian, about to leave because she clearly wanted something else, someone else. 'Rosie is the one who told me to go, coming back would be foolish and embarrassing. Begging for someone to love me back is embarrassing.' She thought. Even though her and Adrian probably wouldn't work out, she could make a life for herself in LA. She could have the freedom to do whatever she wanted without anyone getting in her way. She still wished that Rosie would have said something more but she tried her best to push the thought away so she could move forward without him.

Annalise and Adrian were about to board their flight when Annalise stopped out of nowhere. "Annalise you need to get on, the plane is taking off soon." Annalise looked at him with a guilty look in her eyes and finally Adrian let go of his pride. "Maybe you should stay, I can see how sad you are leaving your mom and your friends. I will miss you Leese" Just then Annalise saw something out of the corner of her eye. It was Rosie's bright yellow car outside the window, oh how much she would've missed that car. But it wasn't just the car, it was the man who drove it.

Rosie saw that Annalise's flight was boarding so he had to get there quick. As he ran looking like a fool through the corridors he finally made it to where her plane was supposed to be, but it had already taken off. "Damn it!" He said with his hands on his head. He was so angry at himself for letting her go but then he saw her. When their eyes met he wasnt even sure how any of this had even happened but it all dissapeared. Annalise ran into his arms and hugged him so tight, like she would never let go and he did the same. "I love you Annalise and I should've said it sooner but-" Annalise shut him up with a kiss "I love you too."
