y/n woke up and brushed the hair out of her face. she checked her phone first thing, realizing she had a text from rory.
leprechaun🍀: sorry about that! i'll try not to do it again - thanks for entertaining me last night though :)
you replied with "of course!" and shut your phone off, smiling. it was now wednesday. you took a quick shower and put on a pair of jeans and a tucked in t-shirt. after drying your hair, you then added small waves to the ends of it. you brushed your teeth and put on a small amount of makeup, and headed out the door with a piece of toast in your hand.
since the walk to school wasn't very far, you chose to walk to school every now and then. you were about halfway there as you finished your piece of toast. dusting your hands off, you enter mckinley high and head to morning glee class. you see rory. he smiles and gestures for you to come sit in the seat next to him, which you do.
"mornin'" rory smiles at you, his accent fitting in well with his words. you smiled back at him. "morning mr green." he smiled wider and looked away from you. he then turned his head back a few moments later, and asked you a question. "you enjoy last night as much as i did?" you raise your eyebrows. "you enjoyed it?" he smiled and nodded. your cheeks heated up, and you let out a quiet "yeah".
rory smiled at you as mr schue walked into the room. "how are things coming along for the duet competition?" he asks, and the class lets out a "good". even if the class wasn't doing well, they would still say they're doing good as mr schuester's lessons were way longer than normal lately.
"alrighty then, this morning was just a check in. see you all in the afternoon. hang around the school with friends or maybe practice for the competition with the time you have."
you and rory looked at each other as soon as mr schue said that. he smirked a little as a smile curved at the right side of his lips. "where do you plan on going?" he asked. you hummed quietly, thinking. you walked through the halls, taking a turn in one of the empty classrooms.
"here?" he asked, with a weird look on his face. you giggled at his expression, which seemed to make him smile to himself. "i just wanna do a quick rehearsal and then we can talk all we want after." you mentioned. he got up, doing as you said. you closed the door gently, making sure the music couldn't
be heard too loudly from the hallway.you set your music up on your phone, as the beginning of the song began playing. "and as for choreography, just do whatever you feel like. we'll work out whatever suits us." you smile at him. rory gives you a reassuring smile, and walked a bit closer to you.
(r is rory, y is for your name - i normally don't write out lyrics but this is important so yes)
r: my hearts a stereo, it beats for you so listen close
hear my thoughts in every note*you walk a bit closer to him, slowly*
y: make me your radio, turn me up when you feel low
this melody was meant for you so sing along to my stereo*there was a moment of silence before the next part of the song started*
r: if i was just another dusty record on the shelf- would you blow me off and play me just like everybody else? if i ask you to scratch my back could you manage that? like it read well, check it Travie, i can handle that. furthermore i apologize for any skipping tracks it's just the last girl that played me left a couple cracks- i used to used to used to used to, now i'm over that; cause holding grudges over love is ancient artifacts
y: if only i could find a note to make you understand - i'd sing it softly in your ear and grab you by the hand. keep it stuck inside your head, like your favorite tune; and know my heart's a stereo that only plays for you
*you two grab hands, as he spins you around. you let go of his hand, spreading far apart again.*
r+y: my hearts a stereo, it beats for you so listen close- hear my thoughts in every note- make me your radio, and turn me up when you feel low this melody was meant for you so sing along to my stereo Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh to my stereo
Oh oh oh oh so sing along to my stereo, let's gor: If I was an old-school, fifty pound boom box
Would you hold me on your shoulder, wherever you walk
Would you turn my volume up in front of the cops
And crank it higher every time they told you to stop
And all I ask is that you don't get mad at me
When you have to purchase mad D batteries
Appreciate every mix tape your friends make
You never know we come and go like we're on the interstatey: I think finally found a note to make you understand
If you can hit it, sing along and take me by the hand
Keep myself inside your head, like your favorite tune
And know my heart's a stereo that only plays for your+y: My heart's a stereo
It beats for you, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every note
Make me your radio
Turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh to my stereo
Oh oh oh oh so sing along to my stereo, let's go
I only pray you never leave me behind (Never leave me)
Because good music can be so hard to find (So hard to find)
I take your hand and pull it closer to mine
Thought love was dead, but now you're changing my mind
My heart's a stereo
It beats for you, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every note
Make me your radio
Turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh to my stereo
Oh oh oh oh so sing along to my stereoyou two finish the last verse as you stop spinning and look each other in the eyes. you just stared for a few moments, before both realizing what you were doing. you snap out of it, both your cheeks a tint of pink. you both laugh nervously, and sit on top of the table in the empty classroom and begin to talk.
