Your eyes remained completely neutral and cold as you stared at the destruction that laid at your feet.
The blood of the fallen covered your body from head to toe, staining your face and clothes, but you didn't care. Instead, you basked in the defeat of your enemies, enjoying the stench of their decaying bodies.
Fire raged beneath you, destroying everything and everyone in your line of sight.
The screams of the fallen only made you sigh in ecstasy. You had finally destroyed them all. Your mission-Your entire life's goal was now finished, laying at your feet and turning to ash before your very eyes.
The sky above you was a dark red that seemed to connect with whatever soul you had left in some small way, painting a perfect picture of despair and destruction.
Wait.
Your eyes widened slightly as you stared out.
This wasn't what you wanted.
You didn't want to hurt anyone. You didn't want anyone to die.
Your breathing began to accelerate slightly as you peeled your blood stained shirt from your body, leaving you in only a tank top.
You looked at your blood covered hands, falling to your knees as the screaming began to grow louder and louder.
Screaming.
Screaming.
Screaming.
You covered your ears, shutting your eyes, trying to block out what you had done.
All the people...All the innocent people.
The screams that rang in your ears were deafening...but the did not come from the innocent you had murdered....these screams fell from your own lips as the realization of what you had done fully dawned on you....
The inevitable destruction that you had been avoiding your whole life...finally managed to catch up with you.
