Chapter 32: Fake Protagonist

"ZEWU JUN! ZEWU JUN!" exclaimed Ashley and Wei WuXian. Lan XiChen is resting beside the rabbits living near the river of Cloud Recesses, he spend his time reflecting and deeply thinking if his feelings towards Ashley is just infatuation or perhaps he is literally in love. When he saw the two figure running closer towards him, his body suddenly trembled and realized it's Ashley and Wei WuXian.

Both of them pause in their tracks and gasp for breath, "What brings you two here? And Ashley, I thought your resting in your room?" he asked.

"Well, err- ZeWu Jun, do you know where the kitchen is? I would like to eat with Wei Ying with these food I brought in my time." Ashley replied and kindly showed the two cup noodles in front of him.

Lan XiChen became curious in the object in her grasp, yet, he felt a sting of what it seem jealousy when she want to eat a meal with Wei Ying. He brushed off those thoughts and politely replied, "The kitchen is near the Jingshi..."

"Oh! Thankie!" Ashley exclaimed and he nod. He watch Wei WuXian and Ashley went to the kitchen near the Jingshi.

Lan XiChen let out a deep sigh and pet a rabbit beside him, If this feeling is real, what should I do? He deeply thought.

Ashley and Wei WuXian finally reached the kitchen and start to boil the two cup noodles, after a couple of minutes, the two finally dig in and start eating. Wei WuXian missed eating spicy food, he never knew he and Ashley had similarities when it comes to food.

He slurp the noodles and sigh deeply, "Damn! It's delicious! Thanks so much! The food in Cloud Recesses is so bitter! I think I will die before a day comes!" he exclaimed.

Ashley chuckled, "Well, don't eat to fast, just indulge the smell and eat properly...okie?"

"Hahaha! I will!" He replied as they both dig in their food.

After they ate, they went back to Ashley's room and converse. Wei WuXian's curiosity peaked when he remembered the story Lan Wangji told him. The first time they encounter her and leaving without anything to say...he indeed became curious if something happened between her and Lan Wangji.

Wei WuXian, "hey Ash."

"Mn?" she asked.

Wei WuXian, "Not to be rude but...did something happened between you two?"

Ashley gulped, should I tell him? Should I?

"He almost kissed me in the past, but I refrain him. Don't worry." She replied,

Wei WuXian, "Why?"

"Why what?" she asked.

"Why you and he never work out?" he asked.

Ashley replied, "Shiya! You're still dumbfounded are you? Lan Wangji likes you! Even I am infatuated to him, the only person remained in his heart is you!"

Lan Wangji...likes me?! Wei WuXian deeply thought. Both cheeks are burning, now he understood why...in the inn, where they kissed, does it mean he really liked him from the beginning?

Ashley, "Wei Ying, that is the main reason I left, I don't want to be he substitute to him...I want him to patiently wait for you...You can see how he try his hardest to protect you at any cost...right?"

Wei WuXian, "I-I think he was..."

"Tell me." Ashley replied, "Do you like him?"

Wei WuXian thought for a moment, admit it or not, ever since Mo Xuanyu sacrifice his body to him. All he ever think is Lan Zhan, when he first saw him...he was afraid, he was so afraid that he will never forgive him if he reveal himself to him.
