I MUNCHED ON MY FRIES greedily, my gaze wondering to the window screen ever so often to make sure the Spirit guy was there. He was there, laying very still on the grass overlooking the high rise ground. I wondered if he was working in this school. Maybe he pestered people telling he was a freaking spirit. That would explain the incident of the night.
I was so lost in keeping a focused watch on him that it didn't register in my mind when someone suddenly slammed on our table.
"Hey!" Mikayla said to whoever the hell it was. My fries lost their position off the greasy packet onto the tray making me turn my head to the scene; only to find Mikayla with her hands fisted on the table before a girl who was bent over the table talking to Elijah. It was Mikayla who had slammed on the table, I finally understood as the scene unraveled. I blinked twice trying to make out of the situation while Jaxon passed me an amused look.
I peered at the girl who had a smug grin stretched on her dolled up face. She matched all the stereotypes of the most beautiful girl with her flawless platinum blonde hair straightened to the point it resembled thread sticks and short skimpy dress that did nothing to hide the parts which seemed so...padded up...with stuffs. Well also to add, matched the stereotypes of being the real bitchy queen bee with her way of posture. I was reading way too much into everything.
I hoped I was wrong.
"What Mikkie? Scared that your boyfriend will realize who's the pretty one?" The girl remarked with an evil smirk, ''It's just about time.''
Maybe I wasn't so wrong.
Mikayla was silent. Her eyes were brimmed with unshed tears as if she couldn't believe anyone would talk to her like that. Elijah kept fidgeting his finger pathetically hunched up while Jaxon just muttered under his breath as he took a bite of my fries, ''If only I were a girl.'' My brows creased at that. Huh, I was one, I thought letting the fact slide that Jaxon touched my fries.
"Scared of what exactly? Her personality isn't rotten like yours," I spoke up harshly, putting my fries in their place. Some people needed that as well.
"Excuse me?" The girl snickered, her minions crossing their tanned arms over their busted chests as if holding up a stance to intimidate me.
"You heard what I said," I said irritated but looking straight into her eyes, "Well, I see you also seem to have hearing problem." By then, I could feel the presence of the whole cafeteria watching us.
"Who are you again? Wait, don't even answer, I know you are some ugly bitch trying to act tough to get the guys."
She had the audacity to scoff after saying such a thing to me. The side chicks giggled in a very witchy tone sharing hi-fives. Well, she had it coming then.
"It's rich coming from you, don't you think?'' All heads turned back to me again.
''For starters you're preaching about wanting attention but did you not start this?'' I chuckled and then looked at Mikayla, who was sniffing in her sweater. Poor her. But I had to finish it, ''And about wanting guys? Although you're saying I'm the one asking for it, your dress is showing who is really begging for that attention.''
With that I stormed out off the cafeteria ignoring all the 'oohs' and 'ahs', as I took off to the restroom.
''Dang, that's the new girl!'' a guy spoke out amidst of the crowd as the howling continued.
Way to mix in as the unnoticeable new girl.
