The Three Daisies (1)

Once upon a time,there was a beautiful kingdom named Elaria. The people over there lived in peace and harmony,for their King was a man of kindness and fortune.

Just one unfulfilled desire used to capture the King's happiness like a storm cloud in a sunny day. That is he did not have any child of his own.

The King had five queens,none of them could give him a child,specially a Son,who could take charge of his kingdom after him.

One day,a very old women came to the King's palace,saying that she could help him to be blessed with child. Hearing that made the King excited even though it seemed nearly impossible. He called upon the old lady and asked how.
"My Lord,there's a way your wives shall conceive. But in return I want 100 gold coins"

"You shall get what you asked for,but if it is some scam,you will be off with your head",said the king .

"So do I agree my Lord . Pick the one only sunflower which is at the east corner of your royal garden. Paste it in mortar and pestle and your five wives shall eat it equally."

"I keep my faith on you for now. Claim your prize. But remember,if it is a treachery, I shall find you and you'll be beheaded"

The old women took the gold coins and took his leave. But before stepping outside she turned and said ,"Remember my Lord, a heart made of gold shall be blessed with child of diamonds"

Paying no attention to that the King sent his servants to search the flower. It was handed over the queens along the instructions.

"I'm the eldest so I deserve more", said the first queen out of her arrogance and ate up a bigger portion than she actually had to.

"If she gets more I also should get similar",said the second queen out of her jealousy and ate up little bigger portion.

The third and fourth wives too ate the rest of the sunflower paste by quarreling, leaving nothing for the smallest queen.

The smallest was the nicest queen, soft and gentle. She wept alone and washed the mortar with some water and drank the remains of the paste quietly.

Soon the king was flooded with the happy news that his five queens are conceived with child.

Months passed and the day came. The first four queens,each delivered just water with no babies. They all were so scared and terrified for the King's reaction.

Whereas the smallest queen gave birth to three beautiful triplets, the Sons.

The evil four queens heard this news and sent their maids to bury the triplets and replace them with three frogs.

Being unconscious for the labor, the maids secretly took the kids and kept them in a garden basket, buried them along the basket which had daisy seeds in them, in the garden.

The news reached king's ears that non of the queens could give birth to a human child,making him furious. He headed towards his queens......
