Hayashi Yuki was not one to be late. She likes to be early to everything, it saves the embarrassment of having to explain herself for showing up past the time she was expected. And since she actually lived on campus, there really was no excuse for her to be late to class, especially on the first day.
She was already five minutes late, but instead of entering the door like a normal person, she stood outside the door figuring out how she should enter.
Should she be in a panic when she enters, showing that she cares that she's late to class?
Ah, but that's going to give her a reputation, and she didn't want that.
Or, should she walk in quietly, quickly apologize to her teacher, and take a seat?
Ah, but that might make her look too carefree.
She could always just walk in and not acknowledge the fact that she's late at all.
Ah, but then she would definitely give her a reputation...
The question was, which was the way to attract the least amount of attention.
She stood outside the door, with her hand on her scrunched up face as she thought, but before she even had the chance to make up her mind, the door opened in front of her.
"Ah, sensei...ahaha" Yuki's face turned red as she realized the entire class was staring at her through the doorway. "I'm very sorry I'm late, I promise it won't happen again" Yuki quickly bowed at her teacher and walked into the room, examining the students.
There seemed to be about 15 of them, but as she scanned the room, only one caught her eye.
A blondie, huh? He's tall too. Weird.
"Um, anyway, where should I sit?" Yuki smiled softly at her teacher, who seemed slightly annoyed with her, but nice enough.
"There's an empty seat in the back, next to Tsukishima, you can sit there." She nodded.
She looked to the back of the room to the blonde boy she was examining before, there was an empty seat next to him.
He must be Tsukishima. Of course.
"But first I would like you to introduce yourself to the class" The teacher said, pulling Yuki back to the front, "the rest of the class did introductions already, but since you were late you will have to take it upon yourself to get introductions from the others."
Yuki nodded and looked forward to the class.
"I'm Hayashi Yuki. It's very nice to meet you all" She spoke loud enough for the class to hear, and with another quick bow facing the class, she retreated to the back where she would take her place next to the tall blondie.
She quickly took her seat, and took a deep breath, unable to believe that she was actually late on her first day of school.
"Did you forget school started today or something? You're in the college prep class, Don't you think you should be able to read a calendar" The boy to Yuki's left snickered.
Tsukishima....
Yuki glanced over at the blonde boy next to her, shocked that he would say something like that to a girl he hadn't even formally met yet.
"I just got a little lost on my way over here, Tsukishima-San, was it?" Yuki smiled at him, and he glared at her, shocked that she returned his comment with a smile.
'Jeez, way to welcome your desk partner' Yuki thought.
"Y-Yeah. Tsukishima Kei"
Yuki smiled and nodded at Tsukishima, letting him know that she heard him, and then she took out her notebook and prepared for the lesson that was starting.
But for some reason, something felt off, like she couldn't focus comfortably on the lesson.
She glanced around her, attempting to figure out why her instincts were alarming her.
Ah, so that's why...
She looked to the left to see her new seat partner staring at her, kind of like he was trying to figure something out about her.
Whatever, I need to focus on the lesson. Don't want to get kicked out of the school before I can find Shimizu.
She looked at him once more, giving him a small smile, and he looked away, allowing Yuki to comfortably focus on the lesson.
'What a weird boy' she thought.

After a few hours of lessons, the bell had finally rang, meaning that it was time for lunch.
Yuki wasn't sure what she was going to do for lunch. I mean, she didn't have any friends, after all. Not that she really needed any anyway. She decided she was just going to eat in the classroom by herself.
That was until a green haired boy with freckles walked over to her desk and introduced himself to her.
"Hi, I'm Yamaguchi Tadashi, you're Hayashi-San, right?" He smiled
"Hai" I mumbled back.
"Are you sitting by yourself Hayashi-San?" He asked slightly quieter, trying not to embarrass the girl. It seemed like almost everyone else already had atleast one person to sit with.
"Yeah. I don't mind though. I like to be alone." Yuki replied to the boy.
He rubbed his neck with his hand and looked over at Tsukishima who was watching the interaction, but didn't seem too particularly interested. "Well, Tsukki and I eat lunch together, you could eat with us if you'd like. We don't leave class or anything though"
He called him by a nickname. It's kinda cute. They must be close friends.
"Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll just eat by myself if you don't mind?" Yuki smiled up at the boy, his cheeks and the tips of his ears turning slightly pink at the rejection.
"O-oh, of course" he replied
"But I do have a question that maybe you'd have an answer to?" She asked
"Do you know anybody by the name of Kiyoko Shimizu, a third year?" She asked, hoping that atleast somebody around has heard of her.
"N-no, sorry. I don't know any third years."
"Ah, it's okay. Thanks anyway."
Yuki then stood up from her desk, and walked out of her classroom, heading back to her dorm room for the remainder of the lunch period.
