"It's time for a family meeting!" Yelled my mom from the bottom of the stairs. I hear the ruffles of movement all around my room as my siblings rushing to their doors opening them up and slamming them behind them. Next comes the creaking of the stairs as they ran down them. I shake my head a little and slowly push my body out of the laying position I was in before climbing down off my bed. I step through my open door and made my way to the stairs. I was the last one to come down, I made my way to our living room where all eyes were on me. I looked down as I move over to the couch and sat down. All eyes turn over to my mom as we waited for her to speak.
" I called all of you down here because I have some exciting news to share with you."
"What is it?"
She took a deep breath before answering my question. "We are moving to Los Angeles, California!" She said with excitement in her eyes.
She can be serious I thought to myself, but the look on her face told me she was. I glanced around the room looking at my siblings before I asked "When do we move?" Mom looked at me with a straight face and said "Next week".
My heart sank when those words left her mouth. I only have 5 days to pack everything up and say goodbye to all of my friends. She looked around the room seeing if there was anymore questions, when no one else spoke up she nodded her head and handed us each a stack of boxes for us to start packing up our belongs.
One by one we left the living room and headed up to our rooms to start packing, well everyone but me. I pull out my phone and sent a text to the group chat my friends and I made.
Hitting the send button I watch the message come up on my screen with a blue bubble around it. I shut my phone off and stood up from the couch. Slipping the phone in my back button I walk to the front door. Opening it up, I yelled " I'll be back!" As I walk through the door. I hear a soft "okay" as the door shuts.
