Your POV

6:30pm

I was studying in my library when I heard a ding.  I looked down to see it was from Cooper. "Hey do you maybe wanna ft now?:)" I did, I really did but... I couldn't help but wonder why me? Why now? Why didn't he want to talk to me when we were younger, or even in the tenth grade when I sat next to him and gave him all the answers in history class? I felt distraught and overwhelmed with all these questions running through my mind searching for their answers. 'Fuck it' I thought to myself. How bad could it be? If worst comes to worst I can just hang up or mute it and ask Lil to call me into the kitchen over the intercom. I responded with "totally:)" and started the call on my laptop.

"Hey y/n," Cooper said after the call connected. "Hi Coopie," I responded. "Who said you could call me Coopie?" he said with a smile on his face. "Well I just assumed that was your nickname since that's what all the boys call you duh." "Yeah but you're not everyone else... " He started, and I felt my heart sink. "...we should have our own nick names for each other, something different and cool." "Hmmm... dude I'm fully drawing a blank I-" he cut me off. "Dude! That's perfect. We can call each other dude y/n" the blonde haired boy said with the cutest smile I've ever seen on his face. "'Dude', that makes so much sense. That's the first word you've said to me in years." I said sassily.

"Y/n. I am so sorry I haven't really talked to you over the years. I just never really worked up the courage to say anything to you because..." he paused. "Dude spit it out!" I said giggling. "... because you're like insanely pretty, talented and smart and it's intimidating low-key." he said while laughing. My face lit up instantly and I feel like he could notice but I didn't really care. "Awee dude seriously? That's so sweet I could cry!" I said smiling from ear to ear. "I hope I didn't just make things super awkward I'm so-" "Cooper don't apologize oh my God. It's not awkward at all! If it makes you feel any better I think you're literally so cute, plus I've seen you skate at the park before and I could never do tricks like that dude." I exclaimed trying to lighten him up a little bit. "Thank you Y/n I feel so special dude." "No need to thank me silly I'm just telling the truth. You are special." I said while laughing.

We talked until Lillian called me through the intercom and told me my fruit was ready. "I gotta blast dude." I said letting out a long sigh. The rest of our conversation surprisingly wasn't awkward at all. What's wrong with two friends thinking the other is attractive right? "Okay Jimmy Neutron, I'll catch you on the flip side." he replied and we both started wheezing. "More like Carl Wheezer!" I said between laughs. After we shared a good laugh we actually said goodbye. "Bye dude," "Bye dude."

Cooper's POV

9:30pm

I seriously didn't want to hang up but she had to go because her nanny cuts fruit up for her every night at nine thirty which is absolutely adorable in my opinion. I wish my mom would do that for me. I actually had an amazing time talking to her. She's so funny and gets ALL my references. I thought I made a bad move telling her that she's pretty but I'm glad I did. I called Noah and told him everything to which he replied, "I ship it." I told him to shut up and that she's just my friend but if I'm being honest, I kinda do too.

I continued to text her until she said she had to go to sleep. She asked me if I wanted a ride to school tomorrow and I texted back, "totally, my address is **** ********* street, goodnight dude:)" and she replied with,  "perfect I'll pick you up at 7:00am PST. goodnight dude<3". I loved how she said PST it made me laugh to myself. I can't wait to see her again.
