Chapter 47

Dingding's P.O.V.

I've been sitting in the waiting room for the past three hours. Ruwei had a mild heart attack, and it's all my fault. I know he trusts me, but if I walked in on Ruwei hugging another woman, I would have lost it as well, so I completely understand him.

The doctors told me he's going to be fine, and that he needs to rest up. He should be waking up within the next half hour. I stopped crying when Rose brought Kevin to me. Kevin sat beside me quietly for the first hour, but now, he's beginning to get squirmy.

That's when I realized he hasn't eaten anything. I turned to him and dried my tears, "Kevin, are you hungry?" I asked in a quiet tone. He didn't look at me as he shook his head. I sighed and stood up, bending down and picking him up. He immediately wrapped his arms around my neck.

"Sweetie, mommy will take you to the cafeteria downstairs. I know you're hungry, daddy will wake up soon." I said as I carried him downstairs. I selected a small jug of milk, a bag of apple slices, and a can of canned peaches for him.

I sat him down at one of the tables and handed the food to him. He began to eat slowly as I just continued thinking about Ruwei. I can't believe he's in the hospital AGAIN because of me. "Mama..." Kevin whispered as he waved an apple slice in front of me.

I smiled weakly as I allowed him to feed it to me, causing him to smile a little. He jumped off of his seat and climbed into my lap. He kept a hand on my shirt, something he always does whenever I'm holding him, while he continued to eat his snacks.

I opened the can of milk and held it in front of him, "Be careful, don't spill this." I said as he grabbed it and took a big chug. I let out a small laugh when I saw his milk mustache. I grabbed a napkin and wiped his little mouth. "Kevin, you will always be mommy and daddy's treasure."

He rested his hand against my chest as I began feeding him the canned peaches. "Mommy I'm full..." He said once we were about halfway done. "Sweetheart, there's still half a can in here," I said, but he just kept his mouth shut.

I rolled my eyes at his childish behavior as I finished the rest of the peaches. I grabbed his hand and we headed back up just in time for Ruwei's doctor to tell me that he woke up. I opened the door and Kevin walked in first before I went in.

I instantly teared up when I saw him laying on the hospital bed. I let go of Kevin as he ran to the bed and threw his arms around his dad. Ruwei picked him up so Kevin was laying down next to him. Kevin was crying as he held onto his dad. But after a little while, he fell asleep.

I slowly walked over to him. "Ruwei, I'm so sorry, if it weren't because of me, you wouldn't be in the hospital right now." I said as tears fell down my cheeks, "You know I would never hurt you. Jake approached me earlier and told me that he has a rare genetic disorder and that he only has a month left to live. I did feel bad because we did work together many times, he is a good friend, so I hugged him, but I promise, that's all that happened." I said.

"Ding, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have reacted like that. I completely trust you, but I don't trust him, I never trusted him around you, ever. His hands were on your butt, and his eyes...his eyes looked like they were going to make you his." Ruwei snapped through gritted teeth.

"Ruwei, I promise you, I won't have any more contact with him. Just please, don't be angry anymore, the doctors told me you had a heart attack." I said sadly. He sighed as he placed his hand on top of mine, "You are the only person in this world who can get me so emotional, because I care about you too, too much." He said lovingly.

I bit my lip as I leaned over and pressed my lips against his. He rested his hand on my lower waist as we continued kissing for another few moments. My eyes slowly trailed down to his bandaged knuckles. I started crying as I held onto his hands.
