"Okay. I'll start." Damon says to Elena." I know Alaric eternal sunshined our relationship out of your brain.... But please, please tell me it's coming back. At least part of it. Because imagining this moment is what got me through the last few months."

"I'm not sure what to say."

"Easy. So easy just say that you missed me as much as I missed you."

"I remember pain. I remember all the terrible things you did to the people that I care about. I remember that you and my sister have a child together. I honestly don't remember anything good between us. I thought if I saw you in person it might change everything, but---"

"Maybe you just need a little more time."

"Damon, I know that I loved you."

"Yeah."

"And I know... That, apparently, I forgave you for all the awful thing's that you did..."

"Yeah."

"But... I just don't remember it. I'm sorry I-- I just don't... Feel it anymore. I'm sorry."

"Yeah." He looked hurt.

"Damon, I'm-- I really am sorry." He exhales. She then closed the door

"So it sounds like you both are having fun?" I say to Miranda on the phone.

"I guess. Did you know Zack likes brussel sprouts?" I started laughing

"He does?"

"Yeah. He always eats mine." I wiped my tears away. "Mom?"

"I'm here." I sat on my bed and Elena walked in. "Listen. Princess... Give your brother a kiss for me okay? And tell him I love and miss him."

"I will."

"I love you and I'm missing you like crazy." She laughs.

"We'll be together soon." She then hangs up. I placed my phone on the nightstand.

"can I ask you a question?"

"Yeah."

"How and why did Damon and I get together?"

"Come again?"

"I heard you question the first time I'm just making sure that's what you're asking." I smiled. "Well, I don't really know where to start.... I mean at first you hated him when you first met him."

"I know that." She says and rolled her eyes

" if we're really being honest right now. I think it would have to be the time that Stefan and I left with Klaus." She looked at her phone.

"You both left because of Damon-"

"Not all him you too. Elena I don't want to stay here and go down memory lane with everything you and Damon been through. Elena you loved him before you were sired to him. No matter how hard you try to fight your feelings you couldn't you and Damon were like magnets-"

"But you loved him." She sounded sad.

"I did and I'm always gonna love him but you're the one not me." I grabbed my bag. "Now let's go."
