 Alis POV

I saw Alex and Caden walking together, I quickly scan through the room and realize that everyone has been sat in threes which means I'm the last one to choose. I decided to sit on the last table where now I have only 2 spaces to fill one on each side.  I honestly hope no one knows that me and Caden, well erm let's just leave it to that. They came and sat next to me, "hey " I look over and Alex is on one side and Caden next to me on the other side, just him gazing at me and I try so hard to avoid eye contact or any sort of contact with him.

At the end of the class,  Caden and Alex stayed back to talk to each other. Both of them starting whispering behind my back literally, as they weren't really quite enough for me not to hear my name. Curiosity grew in me, I started walking slowly to hear more clearly out of curiosity. Alex finally approached me and as Caden approached me my heart flipped in every direction if only I could visually display.

"Alison, do you have plans. It's a Friday". Alex said  "no, not really," I replied " We're having a party at my place to welcome the new year." as soon as he said that everyone's faces turned and ears popped open, at this point, my face turned red. I bent down make their ears come closer and nearly screech saying" Noooooo!". There I turn and I'm about to run in thin air as I feel a hand grab me and I'm face to face with Alex. " well, I wasn't asking, see you. At 9 at my house." feeling his breath so close to my face I either should get him a toothbrush or book hygiene lessons, I'll remember to tell him later.

Alex acts so free around me as he keeps forgetting that were only like that outside no one in school knows that I know the most famous & popular Alex. I'd probably be able to survive that kind of attention or integration of all the school girls. I give up with him and his casual speeches at school with me,  happy that it was lunch the best time to have to myself and just eat, read and chill.  I sometimes think I should expose his girlfriend that no one knows about but I rather not be honest. Thinking about it now, whys he throwing a party all of a sudden. I totally forget our mums are out today and that gives him more reasons to get the whole house to himself & throw a party.

Sitting on the bench does make me look like a loner but it's nice at times, I'm always surrounded by my best friend, Emma. We've known each other since kindergarten, you can never calculate the years when it comes to your dearest. We became best friends when I helped her mum without telling my mum or hers. I love her but I'm such an introvert I don't think anyone can beat that.

However, after their father's death, there was no one to earn in their house and I just turned 17 mum bought me my new car, but I sold it to help open her mum a store to provide for them, as I never disclosed this fact before she found out from her boyfriend who was the broker for the estates.

I made her promise me to take this secret to her grave, her mum has self-respect and dignity and I would never want to hurt that. As for that she never forced her friendship with me, even though she could have but she decided to stay my Best Friend despite anything. All my thoughts, I'm jotting them down on the bench when I feel someone sitting next to me. Caden .................................

P.s. - Emma isn't with him anymore, with all the disrespect. She deserves so much more.
