Soulmate Reincarnation Au ×Headcanon×

So I've had this Au idea for a long time and I was wondering if I should write it? 

• So, if you know Malec you know that Magnus is immortal and Alec isn't, which has been the main challenge in their relationship. 

• So I got to thinking about Soulmate Aus for them. What if I wrote a soulmate au where you're reincarnated every time you did and you always have the same soulmate, your gender changes and your appearance an change but you're always the same deep down. 

• Magnus is immortal but he actually met his soulmate a long time ago, Alec's past life. Sometimes he messes up and thinks someone else could be his soulmate's reincarnation (thus why he dated Camille) and that's were all of his poor relationships came from. The ones that have lasted till the other does have been one of Alec's previous lives. 

• That's also why no one actually knows about soulmates, because you never remember your past lives, you just instinctively know that you're meant to be with the other person. 

•It also works since Magnus is Bisexual while Alec only likes guys. Magnus is immortal so none of Alec's past selves have had a female soulmate (part of the natural draw of the soulmate is that you're only attracted to them really). That's why he's gay. And Magnus is bi because Alex's been reincarnated so many times as both girls and boys.

I just love this idea so I wanted to shade it.
