Teaser: The Birthday

"Happy birthday, babe!" Kolo hears Max yell as Max comes barreling down the hallway, nearly making him fall to the ground with a hug. 

 "Hey! I'm carrying stuff, Max!" Kolo looks at Max and he is pouting like a puppy. "Ugh, fine." Kolo sets the groceries he had in his hands onto the ground, "Come here." he says opening his arms and a slight red tint crossing his face. Max practically leaps into his grasp. Kolo chuckles under his breath and smiles, looking at the love of his life in his arms.

 Suddenly, Max swoops down to the ground picking up the groceries and Kolo tries to help, "Nonono," Max says sternly, "Birthday boys don't lift a finger in this house." 

"Max.." Kolo tries to protest.

 "Don't worry, you can pay me back by doing the same on my birthday." Max winks. "Now, go take a hot shower and get comfy while I put these away and make dinner." Reluctantly, Kolo sighs and walks towards the bathroom. Max waits until he hears the water running and starts to run around getting everything ready for tonight. He had been trying to decide the best way to celebrate the first birthday Kolo would have since their engagement for weeks. He knew that Kolo hated big and flashy surprises so he wanted to keep it small, but still really wanted to show Kolo just how much he meant to him. 

While Kolo was showering, Max rushed from the kitchen to the livingroom as quietly as he could, carrying snacks. When Kolo walked into the bedroom Max practically threw himself onto the bed panting.

"Uh-" Kolo looked around the room, there were black fairy lights around the bed that he knew for a fact hadn't been there when he came into the room to get his pajamas before the shower. He looked at the bed frame that had a sign that said 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' on it. And finally his eyes settled on Max, who had a what had to be twenty different types of snacks surrounding him and two laptops in front of him with the familiar sounds of club penguin coming from them. Kolo smiled lightly and crawled one the bed, wrapping Max in a warm hug. "Thanks, dude." 

Max looked down at Kolo smirking and pointed to the computer screen in front of them. Kolo's eyes grew wide and his face turned red as he saw a group of their closest friends on the screen. "Happy Birthday, Kolo!!" they all yelled.

"Thanks guys," Kolo said, looking at Max with a playful frown.

Max laughed and messed up Kolo's hair, managing to make Kolo's blush worsen.

"You better be glad there is snacks." Kolo growled.

"Oh shush, you know you love me." Max laughed and kisses Kolo on the lips quickly before he could react with more than a blush. "Happy birthday, Kolo."
