The world comes back to them slowly, in pieces-
the steady sound of cars passing by,
the faint rhythm of water lapping at the boardwalk
The sun streaks into their bubble, casting a glow upon his face that makes the sharpness of his nose and jaw look soft, boyish. His eyes look gold in this light and she smiles, filling every blink with a freckle on his nose, with how his eyelashes look nearly transparent in the orange glare of sunset.
"So" he says, after a long moment of trying and failing to find any suitable words "it seems you'll miss your flight after all" his voice is playful but she can tell that underneath it he's testing the waters for something tangible, something that might indicate that she'll stay
'its not so hard to tell a woman you want her, Serkan' but then, perhaps it's more than just that. it's the way his eyebrows curve in with hope, the way his hands tremble slightly where they linger on her hips--its more than 'i want you' its the two of them, hand in hand, on the precipice of something more, something bottomless, exciting, frightening--
and all thats left to do is just-
jump
"yeah" she says softly "it seems like I will"
