They got to the training grounds where Jiang Cheng had set up some fake dummies.

"I'm going to practice with these?" Xia asks dumbly, because protagonists always have to say something that sounds stupid.

"Yeah, We're going to see if we can help you control your spiritual energy. From what I've seen, your strongest spiritual point lies in your hands . With your gold core ,you can control your spiritual energy to where you can use precise control and shape the spiritual energy around your fists."

"Golden core?" I don't know much about it other than Jiang Cheng threw a big fit when he lost his.

"Golden cores can store and control spiritual energy. After the core is formed, the cultivator's level of cultivation increases at a rapid speed, and becomes better with proper training and meditation, " he points to one of the dummies," what I want you to do is concentrate on that dummy and punch if as hard as you can."

Xia looks at him skeptically before stepping up to the dummy.

All I have to do is punch. I'm gonna look like a whole ass loser if I can't do anything.

She breathes in before raising her fists.

Well,here it goes

Her fists collided with the dummy and her face fell.

It only takes a second until she feels as if she'd break into a million pieces as she screams in agony.

"... AHHHHHHH WHAT THE HELL?! IS THIS THING MADE OF FUCKING BRICKS!?" She screams with tears as she holds her dead looking hand.

Wei Wuxian chuckles nervously.

"Oh um, this dummy is made of iron heheh."

"WHAT!? ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME!?" She yells getting ready to kick Wei Wuxian to the sky but he moves behind Jiang Cheng.

"S-sorry! It's how we train! You just have to do it until you can control your core. We don't need to do it though, not just yet."

Her face felt deflated and she sighs.

I can't chicken out .. going to have to learn how to punch this thing without breaking my bones

"What's going on here!?"

Xias turned to the side and almost forgets about her aching fingers.

Standing in front of her is Madam Yu Ziyaun.

Xia moves behind Wei Wuxian as the mistress stalked closer to them.

Wei Wuxian looked down and Jiang Cheng moved forward.

"Mother we were just training-"

"Save it! Who is this girl!? I have never seen her in Yunmeng! "

This time Wei Wuxian spoke.

"Madam Yu, she's a guest who's traveled far! She's training to-"

Madam Yu scoffs.

"Training? Hah, this weak looking girl. Just look at her hands. And last time I checked I am the lady of this damn place! You don't make decisions about who is a guest. You're lucky you are even considered one Wei Wuxian!"

Xia felt her blood boiling when Madam Yu called her weak and even more when she insults Wei Wuxian. She already didn't like her because of how much of a bitch she is to Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng ,and even her own husband Jiang Fengmian.

How fucking dare she!? She doesn't even know me but she comes here and tries to talk shit

Letting out a growl, she whips around to the dummy, her fists glowing bright blue.

With one swift move she punches the dummy, the heat of her fists melting a hole in it's iron torso.

Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng and even Madam Yu gasp and stare at the girl in awe.

'She really did it!' Wei Wuxian smirks at the girls determination

Xia looks back at them with a pretty badass expression.

"Now ,what was that about me being weak?"

She steps forward with newfound confidence and looks Madam Yu dead in the eyes.

"I'm going to work hard to become a good cultivator with the help of Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng, and prove you wrong."

Madam you smirks at the girl's challenging tone.

"Very well girl. Prove me wrong."

With that she walks away ,leaving two awestruck boys and girl who immediately deflated when madam Yu was out of sight

I CAN'T BELIEVE I FUCKING TALKED LIKE THAT TO MADAM YU.LORD I DODGED A BULLET

she looks at what she did to the iron dummy and then at her fists, which were now bruised.

She screams internally.

Yanli helped bandage her hand as Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng watched with concern.

"A'Xia, do you really want to train? You've bruised your hands so much already," Yanli spoke softly with a worried expression.

Xia looks at her with a weary smile.

"If this is what it takes to get stronger and learn to control my golden core, then every bruise is worth it."

Yanli finishes with the last wrap.

"Thank you, Jiejie," Xua says thankful for Yanli's care.

She stands up and turns to the boys with a determined expression.

They don't know that I'm doing this for them because I know what is in store for their future. I need to get stronger in order to help them. I'll help save as many as I can!

"I want to go again. I promise I'll work hard and become a good cultivator!"

Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng smile at Xia, believing that she would definitely prove to them she would.
