Elena watched as Artemis, walked into the Grill alone. Sipping on her margarita, she watched as Artemis interacted with the bartenders. Elena narrowed her eyes as, everyone seemed to get along with her. Something had to give, she couldn't be this perfect. It seemed like she was waiting for a take out order, seeing as it was her time. Elena downed the rest of her drink, and made her way a few stools down.
"Hey Artemis, sorry that we got off on the wrong foot." Her whiskey coloured eyes, watched as the younger woman looked annoyed. "Yeah sure, no problem it's water under the bridge." Came Artemis' clipped reply, "I really didn't mean to come off like that. It's just..... Stefan and I have a lot of history, literally he and I were destined for one another." Sighing dramatically she peered at the girl, "so forgive me if I was a little harsh. It's just I know what type of woman he needs, and it's not one who has their magic kick back after one spell."
Artemis glared at her in confusion, as she knew for a fact she's never done magic in front of her. "Come on Arti be realistic, a guy like that would never want someone like you for very long." Elena said as she paid her tab and left, Artemis' alarm bells were really going off now. No one called her Arti, except for... "Shit!" Artemis said loudly as she ran out after Elena, looking all over the parking lot Artemis didn't find her.
Cursing again Artemis raced back to the boardinghouse, forgetting the car she went in. As she came up to the boardinghouse, Artemis skidded to a halt as she gazed at the dead bodies. That were littered around the yard, becoming overcome with grief. Artemis began to cry, everyone had their hearts ripped out of their chests and laying beside them.
"Would you look at that, you were just a little too slow. Although I didn't expect much from you," spoke Leilani crushing the heart that laid next to Bonnie. "Your dad's dead Leilani, you can leave now and never see me again. You killed everyone I loved, what more do you want?" Screamed Artemis glaring at her, laughing Leilani shook her head. "No it's not done Artemis, you need to die if you were never born. Then I would have had a normal life," screamed Leilani as she charged Artemis.
Barring her fangs Artemis followed suit charging Leilani, as both girls crashed into one another. Artemis couldn't believe the strength Leilani had, nonetheless she was going to rip out the girl's heart. When she couldn't get an opening, Artemis began to chant which immobilized Leilani. Sneering at her ex best friend, Artemis dug her hand into Leilani's chest. As her fingers gripped the heart, Artemis paused before ripping it out. "Why are you laughing?" This caused the laughter to get louder, "you are so gullible. Do you actually think I would be bested, by some two bit witch hybrid. Who thinks just because she has powerful parents, she's the perfect witch?"
Frowning Artemis blinked for several seconds, before she saw that her hand was plunged wrist deep. In Bonnie's chest becoming horrified, Artemis was about to pull her hand out. When Bonnie stopped her, "WAIT! If you don't take your hand out slowly, it may end very badly." Near hysterics Artemis finally looked around, and noticed that all of the vampires were behind a barrier. She couldn't believe that she fell for the trick, lowering the barrier Artemis slowly began to extract her hand. Once it was out Klaus quickly began to feed Bonnie his blood, as they were about to say something Artemis was gone.
Hours later Bonnie was sitting in front of the fireplace, with a half finished glass of bourbon. Sensing Klaus behind her, "I never thought I'd ever be afraid of our daughter. But Klaus when she charged me, she had this murderous look. It literally brought me back, to when I was just starting out. All that hate and rage, it was so palpable it was like she was unleashing years of pent up anger." Bonnie paused while downing the rest, of the brown liquid.
Sighing Klaus stood in front of the fireplace, "I know that look. I'm sure you've seen me with that same look before, but I do agree it was chilling to see her like that. Granted I don't blame her, I'd want to kill Leilani as well..." glaring at her husband Bonnie rose from her seat, "absolutely not. That hatred will cost a lot of people their lives, plus it will end up destroying Artemis. We need to reason with her, and tell her that being angry is okay. Yet being that angry where, she looses herself will not end well. Not just for her but for everyone else, she needs to learn to control herself more.
Klaus turned around and saw the conviction, blazing in Bonnie's eyes. He knew she was right, for them to finally be rid of Leilani. Artemis will first need to, work on not letting Leilani get to her. "She's powerful, I'll give Artemis that. Although she doesn't know how to properly, channel that aggression and she needs to become confident. That's where Leilani, surpasses Artemis a hundred times over." Spoke Bonnie while contemplating how, she was going to help Artemis.
Neither parent seemed to notice , a retreating Artemis until she slammed the door. As she walked away, all she could think about was how Leilani was better then her. It was always like that, no matter how hard she tried Leilani was always better. The more she thought about it, the more depressed she got. Then suddenly everything she was feeling, was gone every single care she had was gone. Staring into the dark woods, Artemis didn't know what happened.
What she did know was, she was going to kill Leilani by herself. Then no one will ever question her, she will show everyone how ruthless she was.
