Marceline x Bubblegum

"Ugh!" Princess Bonnibel Bubblegum of the candy kingdom exclaimed. "These stupid bat bugs!" You see, she was in a pickle. Normally, if you go anywhere near bat bugs, they flee very fast. But these ones would just not leave the cave she was cleaning out under her castle. She just couldn't figure out why. She had already run multiple tests and researched many of her books, but all they said was bat bugs instinctively flee when approached.

"Peppermint Butler," Bonni spoke into a walkie talkie.

"Yes Princess?" He responded, his voice crackling from the device.

"I need to you call Finn and Jake ASAP," she said. Rubbing her chin, she pondered the meaning of this phenomenon.

"Right away Princess," Pep-But replied.

Eventually, Finn the Human and his brother Jake the Dog came bounding down the steps.

"Ah, you guys are here!"

"Yeah, what's up P-bubs?" he asked as they looked around the cave.

"What are these doohickies?" asked Jake.

"Bat Bugs," Bubblegum sighed. "I came down to clean this place up, and it's covered in them."

"Why don't you just scare them away?" asked Jake. He then started to bark at them. He stopped when he realized nothing was happening.

"That's the problem," She said. "Normally they would be scared, but they aren't and I have no idea why. I was hoping you guys would have some sort of clue."

Finn just rubbed the back of his neck as he thought. "Jake, where have we seen these before?"

Jake screwed up his face in thought. "Oh. Oh oh oh! Marceline's cave!"

"Bingo!" said Finn excitedly. "She probably knows something about them!"

Bonni thought back to that cave. She hasn't been there in a really long time. Well, not since...

"Yeah, I guess I'll have to ask her," She said.

"Well, is it ok if we leave?" Finn asked. "Ice King's reading Fionna and Cake at the library today."

"Yeah, sure guys," Bonni said, giggling at their interest in those silly stories. "Thanks for your help."

"No prob, bob," said Jake as Finn hopped on his back. They waved as Jake stretched up the stairs and away. Well, I guess I should call Marceline.

Marceline the Vampire Queen was a very easy-going half-demon half-vampire. Her life was full of music and going to parties and concerts. It took a lot to bother her and her care-free lifestyle.

Her phone started ringing. Huh? Who the buns is calling me in the middle of my recording time? Marceline picked up her phone.

"Hello? Marceline?"

"B-Bonni?" Marceline asked, surprised to hear her voice. She hadn't heard it in a long time.

"Uh, yeah. Listen. I have a favor to ask."

"Um, ok, what is it?" Marceline was starting to get curious.

"So, I have a bat bug infestation and Finn and Jake were telling me you might know about them."

"Yeah, a bunch live in my cave," Marcy said. "Do you need me to come look?"

"Yeah, if you would."

"Sure, I'll be over soon."

"Ok, thanks."

The call ended. Marceline put her phone down. Why was she so nervous about going to Bonni's house? She's been there loads of times. Why is this one different? Well, probably because the two were closer back then.
