Two months have passed since Yuki started at Karasuno High School. She hadn't found Shimizu yet, but to be honest, she wasn't really looking either.

Part of her was afraid. She was afraid that the older girl wouldn't remember her, or wouldn't want to be friends with her and as much as she didn't want to admit it to herself, she was still hurt by everything that happened two years ago.

'I could never forget about you, Yuki!", Yuki grimaces at the memory, her face tightening, and her firsts turning white from clenching them together so hard. She rarely felt like this. Normally, she just felt kind of...numb. But occasionally, all of these feelings rushed back to her.

"Hey, what's the issue? Too much thinking for your tiny brain?" The blonde haired boy next to her snickered.

"Tch" was all the girl replied to the snarky comment. Typically, when Tsukishima talked to Yuki, she smiled or she said something nice back.

'Kill em with kindness' She always told herself.

Tsukishima was pleased with her response. Shocked, but pleased. Whenever he said anything to her she never showed any reaction and when she finally did, it seemed like she was really annoyed.

Although, he was curious as to what was upsetting his desk partner, he didn't bother asking because she made it clear that she didn't want friends.

It's not that she didn't talk to the people in her class, she just didn't initiate conversation, and whenever anyone asked to eat lunch with her she politely declined and ran off somewhere by herself.

He always did wonder where she ran off to.

The bell rang for lunch.

"Hey, you ever gonna eat lunch with us, chibi?" Tsukishima smirked at the girl, who still looked like she was going to explode from annoyance.

"I didn't eat lunch with you for two months before this, so why would I eat lunch with you today, Tsukishima-San?" She glared at him, pushing herself up, out of her chair and began to walk away just as Yamaguhi was making his way over to sit with his best friend.

"Where do you go anyway? You always disappear. Do you even try to make any friends?" Tsukishima chuckled, trying to annoy her as much as possible. This reaction was new to him and he sure was enjoying it.

"None of your business you tall oaf" And with that, she stormed out of the classroom and across campus to her dorm where she ate lunch by herself, just like every other day.

Today was different though. Yuki was upset, obviously, but not just about her past friendship. She missed home, she missed her family, and it was starting to get extremely lonely here all by herself.

Of course, she could always make friends, but she wasn't sure if she was going to continue at Karasuno next year, and she didn't want to go through losing any more friends.

There was going to be a break in about a month and Yuki was finally going to be able to see her family again. She missed her little sister more than anything in the world and couldn't wait to go home and see her.

Yuki picked up the picture frame sitting on her bedside table of her family and felt her throat well up with tears. She knew it was irrational to be feeling like this. It's not like they were dead or anything. Just really far away.

Before she realized it, her cell phone was in her hand and she was dialing her moms number.

Mom: hey honey, how are you doing?

As soon as Yuki heard her mothers voice on the phone, she started sobbing. She knew she missed her family but she didn't realize how much she missed them until now.

Mom: Yuki, are you crying? What's the matter?

Yuki: nothing mom, I'm sorry I'm crying, I just miss everybody.

Mom: we miss you too sweetie. Are you sure you made the right choice? Have you heard from Shimizu yet?

Yuki: I don't know anymore mom. I haven't even heard anything about her, I don't know if she's here or not. I don't know if any of this is worth it. I miss home so much.

Mom: I know honey, I don't like you living out there all by yourself ether. Have you even attempted to make any friends?

Yuki giggles at this accusation, her mother knows her too well.

Yuki: Well...

Mom:Yuki! No wonder you miss home so much, you need to talk to people.

Yuki: Well...there is a boy...

Mom: a boy? Yuki!! Why didn't you tell me sooner you had a boyfriend!

Yuki: no, nothing like that. We're not even friends. He's just my desk partner , and him and his friend ask me to sit at lunch with him every day, but I always just eat in my room. He's not very nice anyway.

Mom: Yuki, please at least try to socialize while you're there. It'll be better when you make friends.

Yuki: okay...I'll try mom.

Mom: and when you come home for break in a month we can always talk about transferring if it's what you really want. I want you to be happy, honey.

Yuki: I know mom, Thank you. I feel better already.

Mom: okay, well call me whenever you want!

Yuki: Okay, talk to you later!

Mom: Bye, honey.

Soon after the call between Yuki and her mother ended, she realized she had to go back to class soon. She felt better, she felt so much better in fact that she suddenly felt awful for the way she treated Tsukishima before.

She grabbed her bag for class and ran there before the bell rang, indicating that the next lesson was starting.

She ran into her classroom to see Tsukishima sitting in his normal seat, with his headphones on, staring out the window deep in thought.

She approached him, taking a deep breath, and then tapped on his shoulder to get his attention.

Tsukishima slipped off his headphone with a smirk, and sat back in his chair, "eh? What's this, is the queen stepping off her thro-"

"Tsukishima-San please forgive me for my rude behavior earlier. I was upset but that was not an excuse to call you a tall oaf" Yuki interrupted the blonde haired boys comment.

Tsukishima was taken back by her apology, finally noticing her tear stained cheeks, red and puffy.

'Had she been crying?' Tsukishima thought to himself.

"O-Oh, it's fine." He replied, slipping his headphones back on.

Yuki tipped her head slightly the the left and gave the boy a small smile, looking him right in his golden eyes.

Tsukishima immediately became flushed at this interaction, and turned his head towards the window to hide this from the black haired girl sitting next to him.

After hearing the girls apology and seeing her tear stained face, he suddenly had a strange feeling in his chest.

Was it sadness? No...Regret, maybe? No, it wasn't that either.

Sympathy?

'Perhaps' he thought to himself. Although, he wasn't sure what he was sympathetic about. It's not like he cared for the girl in any way, and she was upset before he even said anything to her.

But still.

This feeling...
