"You told me you wanted me and what I get from you is the cold shoulder. I spend day after day trying to make you happy and instead you do this? You're a selfish prick and I can't stand you!"

"This wouldn't have happened if you had listened to me and dropped the conversation! I didn't want to tell you what had been going on with me and I certainly didn't want to tell you my grandmother had passed away! She was incredibly special to me and I just wanted my space, but you had to go butt your head into business where it doesn't belong! Leave me the fuck alone, George!"

Clay's eyes were clouded with anger and resentment towards the person he called his one-and-only. "I need you to leave me alone because you're being too persistent and stupid as always!"

"Then why don't you LEAVE!"

George's shout echoed through the walls of his and Dream's apartment and his eyes glossed over with fresh tears and hatred. "If you think I'm too 'persistent' and 'stupid' then get the FUCK out of my apartment and I'll leave you the HELL alone!"

Clay had honestly never heard George put as much force behind his words than what he had just said. It rattled the younger down to the very fiber of his soul and his heart shook with fear and self-hatred. "Wait, no. That's not what I meant to say. George, I'm sorry, I was being stupid as always and-"

George whipped around and glared at Clay. "I told you to leave," he stated plainly, no emotion except raw anger trailing his words. "I need you to leave."

Clay hung his head and turned around, exiting George's and his room. The younger YouTuber had half expected George to call after him, running up and giving his boyfriend a bear hug and words of sorrow and encouragement, but nothing came. George remained silent as ever as Dream opened the front door and left.

George flopped down onto his bed. Resentment and self-hatred pooled in his gut followed by a bout of sadness and shock as to what just happened. He sent one of the few people who genuinely cared about him to the street. Sapnap was across an ocean and his mother was in another city a few hours away. 'She wouldn't have taken in Clay anyway,' George thought to himself. It wasn't like she cared as much as she said she did.

George heaved another lonely sigh and sat up, looking around the room before heading downstairs to grab something to eat. He know he needed to, but he didn't feel hunger as much as he should've. The fight drained his energy and all George wanted to do was collapse into a hole and stay there for as long as he wanted to.

And he would've, but his phone began to ring. the Brit waited a few moments before picking up and seeing it was Sapnap who was calling. No doubt Clay had told him what had happened.

George answered the phone with a shaky "Hello?"

"George, Clay told me what happened."

'Of course he did,' George thought.

"Can I ask why you wanted to pry in so badly?" Nick began the conversation by saying.

George was about to yell at Nick for even beginning the conversation without hearing his side first, but took in a deep breath and instead spoke calmly. "Listen, Nick, I realized Clay had been off for a couple of days and I wanted to bring it up with him. To be honest, he had never snapped at me before today and when he did so, I lost my patience. I wanted to help Clay because I felt as though it could be something that left unattended could warp into something against me. I really don't know."

Sapnap thought for a moment before replying, choosing his words carefully. "While I believe you had the right intent, George, you should have waited. Knowing Clay he would have come around eventually and talked to you about things, but I don't feel as though it was right for you to constantly ask until he snapped at you. It only made things worse and I think you know that."

Even though it wasn't what George wanted to hear, he knew it was true. Of course, this realization didn't come without its fair share of feelings and before he knew it, George was crying all over again, realizing his mistake when he shouted at Dream and told him to leave their apartment.

Their apartment.

It wasn't just George's or Dream's, it was both theirs. "Sapnap, where is Clay right now?"

Nick openly told George the younger American had been wandering around a park near the apartment. Thankfully George knew exactly where the park was and how to get there in a quick amount of time.

———————————————————————————

The sky had darkened to a black-navy as George made his way down the thin concrete path to the park where Clay had been for the past couple hours. During his walk, the Brit had been reflecting on what to say, mentally preparing himself for possible rejection.

Something in his path made George stop and a flash of green caught his attention. It was the brown-yellow of Clay's hoodie (which George believed to be a lime green) and in a moment, George didn't know what to say.

Green eyes met dark brown ones as the two men looked on each other for the first time since their fight earlier that day.

"George, I-"

"Clay, I-"

Instead of walking over to Dream, George just stood where he was, taking in the sorrowful appearance of his boyfriend's face and in no time at all, the Brit found himself bawling nearly collapsing onto the ground. A pair of warm and strong arms held him upright; however, and George found himself hugging Clay once more.

"I'm so sorry!" George sobbed out, tears trailing down the length of his fair skin and staining Dream's clothes. "I didn't mean I wanted you to leave, please! Please don't go! Don't leave me alone! I didn't mean to shout and I didn't mean to pry, I just wanted to help!"

A soft "shhh" came from Clay and a pair of soft lips met George's trembling ones. "I'm sorry, too," Clay began. "I didn't mean to lash out at you and I certainly didn't want you to feel as though I was giving you the cold shoulder. Please, George, I don't want you to go either."

Both YouTubers just hugged for what felt like an eternity, the street lamps and stars lighting up the bleak night sky.

"George, I want to be with you. I want to be yours and I want you to be happy. That's all I want. Let's head back and I'll cuddle you until the morning comes and then we can do whatever you want, alright?"

George nodded his head slowly and turned around, beginning to walk back the way to the apartment, but he felt a warm hand slip into his and Clay came up behind with a small smile stretching across his smooth features.

"I promise to never leave you, George."

"I promise to never leave you either, Dream."

And as both were walking, the same thought crossed their minds, a sad reminder of what had transpired earlier, but a hopeful message of the future to follow;

'I promise not to go.'
