A frown behind a smiling face,

Tears behind unwilling eyes,

Though a smirk sits upon my lips,

It's shadowed in piercing and untold lies,

A hidden truth lies within,

A truth of which few are aware,

A truth that, though I'm weary of,

Is a truth that must be shared,

For before you, you see, a dark, dying rose,

That's thorns guard it from pain,

But what you fail to see, the trueness within,

Is the purest, pink rose, that sprouted in the clear blue rain,

The truth is now free,

Now this rose can grow,

Till the winter dawns nearer and this rose is blanketed,

In the thickness of the white, sparkling snow.
