Prologo

Never have I imagined myself being in this complicated situation. Sino nga bang may gusto makita ang lalaking gusto niya kasama ang girlfriend niya?

"Miks, si Kelly. Girlfriend ko na," he excitedly said.

Girlfriend? Sinagot na pala.

"Hi, Kelly. Mika Cabrero. Kaibigan ni Gio," awit. Friend lang.

"Hello, ang daming kwento ni Gio sa 'kin about you," oh, right. We're friends and Kelly probably asked him about me and the others.

"Sana naman hindi niya ako binibigyan ng bad impression sa 'yo," ano kayang pinagsasabi ng lalaking 'to?

"UY, MIKAAAAAA!" Oh, no. Sana hindi topakin si Carlo ngayon.

"Uh, Carlo, Ian, Jay, Jo, Arianne, si Kelly nga pala. Girlfriend ko," Gio proudly said in front of them. Paulit-ulit tayo, ser?

"Hi, Kelly," the boys said in unison.

Siniko ko si Johanna at Arianne sa aking gilid.

"What?" Jo asked.

I secretly looked at Kelly so that they will know what I'm referring to.

The two just nodded at her as a sign of greeting.

Carlo broke the silence, "Kailan mo sinagot 'tong ungas na 'to?"

"Kanina lang after the game," she humbly said. Wow, Kelly's eeally pretty and kind.

"Miks, una na kami. Guys, ihahatid ko pa 'to sa sakayan," pagpaalam ni Gio at umalis na.

How sweet of him.

What a cliché story that I have. Kaibigan ko, sinasaktan ako kasi minahal ko siya kahit hindi niya alam. Yep, that hurts a lot. Big time.

"Uy, Miks. Nakita namin yown. Shaket? Iiyak mo lang yan," Carlo jokingly said.

"Ikaw napakachismoso mo. Kitang hindi okay yung tao, eh," sabi ni Arianne at binatukan siya.

Pabirong sinuntok ni Ian si Carlo sa braso, "Ogags ka talaga, ser."

"Ang ingay niyo. Okay ka lang ba, Miks?" Buti pa 'tong si Jay, eh.

I felt shy to my friends. Knowing that I'm hurting because of our other friend. This sucks. But I'm thankful that they're trying to ease the pain that I'm feeling.

"Shhhh, alam niyo, mabuti pa umuwi na tayo," before I could say something, Arianne already pulled me and walked away. Nakasunod sa 'min si Jay habang yung tatlo ay nagbabangayan pa sa likod.

I was silent the whole ride. No one tried to talk to me inside the tricycle. But they did try to lighten up the mood. They throw some corny jokes and puns, but I never attended even one. I just felt tired. Masakit lang puso.

When I got home, dumiretso agad ako sa kusina para uminom ng tubig. Mom was there, busy preparing for our dinner.

"Hi, Ma. Papahinga lang po muna ako sa kwarto," nagmano at humalik sa kanyang pisngi bago pumunta sa taas.

I turned my phone off and put it on the side table. I got the book that I'm currently reading and finished it.

"How lucky. She was loved by his crush, the man of her dreams. Sana all."

Am I cruel? How I hoped Gio and Kelly would not end up together in the future? How I wish na sana may pag-asa na kami ni Gio?

I turned my phone on again and saw the notifications from my friends.

I just laughed at their comments when Gio also commented on my tweet.

How ironic, he's helping me find my Romeo when I want him to be that guy? I want him, but I can't have him.

I was about to close my phone when another notification came up.

Gosh, why am I nervous? He just liked my tweet. Hindi naman niya siguro ako sasaktan diba? Nakatulala lang ako kakaisip kung anong mangyayari.

I was back to my senses when my phone rang.

Zarina is calling.

"HOY, BABAE. ANONG NANGYARI HA? KANINA PA KITA TINATAWAGAN PERO I CAN'T REACH YOU," Carlo was right about Zarina.

"Shit happened, Rina."

"What? Si Gio na naman ba?" I nodded as if she could see me and remained silent.

"Ewan ko ba diyan sa kaibigan natin. Tagal naman na din tayong magkaibigan and the two of you are really close. Heck, bakit di ka niya makita as someone who he can love? Ang manhid din talaga nung lalaking yon."

"Rina, we cannot force someone to love us back. If that'll happen, ang sakit naman non. Pipilitin kang mahalin. Ang unfair for the both of us," I said imagining what would happen

Zarina sighed, "Ikaw, ewan ko din sa 'yo. Matalino ka naman, pero bakit ka bobo sa pag-ibig."

"Alam ko naman yun."

"Mag-eexpect na ako na may maraming mangyayari sa susunod. I don't know what pero sure ako diyan. Good luck, Mika."

I'm sure may puntong magiging kumplikado lahat.

"Thank you, Rina."

Bumaba na ako sa kusina nang tawagin ako ni Mama. Dad was already in his seat.

"Hi, sweetheart. Are you fine? You look tired."

I smiled sweetly at him, "I'm fine, dad. Pagod lang pos a school."

"Diba, today was your sports fest?" Mom suddenly asked.

I nodded. "Yes, po."

"Oh, did Gio win on his table tennis?" Dad asked.

"Uh, yes, he did win," and Kelly's heart too.

Dad said I should congratulate him for them. I should tell him tomorrow since I forgot to congratulate him earlier.

We just discussed over dinner what will be our plans this weekend.

"Ang tagal na ring di nakabisita friends mo dito, Miks. Invite them over this Saturday." Mom is really fond of them. Geez.

That made me nervous, which means Gio will here to? I doubt he don't have plans by then. What made me feel nervous more is what dad announced.

"By the way, Lucas is coming home this Friday."
