Surprised One Shot // Muke
luke woke up hearing the baby monitor going crazy. jesenia's tiny screams erupted throughout the house.
he looked beside him to see michael curled up in a ball with sweater paws, snoring softly. his long eyelashes swept over his eyes like a long curtain and his lilac hair stuck to his forehead. "beautiful." luke whispered.
he got out of bed, making sure not to wake michael, and walked into the baby's room.
jesenia continued to cry, kicking her tiny feet in the air. "no no no. jesenia please stop crying before your brother wakes up! please please stop!" luke begged his eyes watering.
he picked up jesenia knowing she needed a diaper change. he placed her on the changing table and opened up the diaper. he cringed in disgust at the awful stench of baby crap.
jesenia cried even louder when luke wiped the tiny bum. joshua woke up and started crying soon after realizing his sister wasn't at his side.
"shit! no! joshua please go back to sleep!" luke pleaded the tears already steaming down his cheeks. "that's fucking disgusting! oh my god! why is it so hot?!" luke screamed after accidentally getting crap on his hands.
michael was asleep and couldn't hear a thing while luke was here, helpless and covered in crap.
luke wiped the foul stuff off his hands. he quickly changed jasenia into a new diaper and laid her back in the crib. he picked up joshua, taking him to the kitchen and making him a warm bottle. he cried even more when joshua refused to drink it.
still holding a crying joshua, he barged into his and michael's shared room. with his free hand, he shook michael's shoulder. his eyes shot open and he smiled up at luke.
his smile disappeared when he saw luke's tear stained cheeks and a crying joshua in his arms. he took luke by the shoulders. "what's wrong baby?"
"jesenia won't stop crying. i had crap all over my hands. joshua won't stop crying. and he won't drink his bottle. please help!" luke mouthed. his eyes were watering with more tears. the sight broke michael's heart.
"oh baby! don't cry please don't cry. it's ok. here let me help you." michael took joshua from his arms and rocked back and forth, humming a small tune. joshua's screams quieted down and soon enough was replaced with soft snores.
he followed luke into the baby's room and put joshua back in the crib. luke picked up jesenia and copied michael's actions. jesenia simmered down soon after.

luke and michael went back into their bedroom. luke sat down on the bed and rubbed his face with his hands. michael sat down beside him and pulled him into his arms.
" it's so hard michael. and I'm so tired." luke typed out on his phone and handed it to michael. he read it and immediately felt bad for the beautiful boy in his arms.
"it's fine baby. it's ok. let's go to sleep. don't worry. tomorrow you can sleep. my mum and i will watch the babies." michael kissed the side of his head.
luke didn't reply. he just cuddled further into michael's sweater and clung to it. "i love you so much. what did i ever do to deserve you?" luke mumbled even though he knew michael couldn't hear him.
they lay there, michael whispering sweat nothings into luke's ear, occasionally giving him small pecks on the jaw and neck. luke lay there, breathing in michael's sweet scent, clenching and unclenching his fingers around his sweater until they both fell asleep in each other's arms.
