He was blonde with blue eyes and had a gorgeous smile. We were embracing, with his arms around my body and my hands around his neck. He looked down at me as our lips were about to touch, then, I woke up. God! Can’t I just get to kiss him already? Although he was a complete stranger, a person I had never met, he had been in my dreams constantly for almost a week. He was just so perfect.

I got ready for school as it was the first day of school after the mid semester break. It seemed to go by so fast. I nipped a cookie from the fridge and ran out to my bus. I hated buses; I was due to get my P’s next week thankfully. I met Rochelle while entering the school grounds. Her perfect wavy blonde swished by her face as she came to greet me. We had been best friends since as long as we could remember. Together, we headed for the school hall for the first day welcome back assembly.

“Please take a seat. Silence please!” Shouted Mr. Rochkins through the microphone. Feedback from the microphone made the entire student body shudder. Mr.  Rochkins cleared his throat as he continued to speak. “Welcome back to all our students and Welcome! To the students that are starting here during Term 3. We are privileged to have you. Just a few announcements before your classes, we have Miss Whites who will be teaching Human Biology in replacement of Mr. Johns and Mr. Fair who is teaching a new elective, Creative Arts. I hope everyone has a wonderful first day back.” Mr. Rochkins stepped down and a teacher whose name I didn’t know began speaking about career opportunities, when she stepped down Mr. Jacks began talking about being environmentally friendly, reminding everyone to throw out their rubbish. Teachers continued to swap places at the lecture stand until finally, a lady teacher with crazy curly bouncy curls came up and announced, “If you would be kindly enough to do so, please make your way through to your first class and have a good day.”

“Oh thank God. I thought I wouldn’t get out of there! They have so much to say don’t they?” Rochelle laughed at my comment as we were pushed around with everyone determined to leave the school hall.

“Ally are you on Mr. Wilkins for maths or Mr. Jenkins? I don’t remember if you swapped classes or not,” Rochelle asked as we stood at our lockers. She opened her locker and threw everything in except her English book.

“I got Mr. Wilkins. Thank God huh? Mr. Jenkins is like slow or something.  He can’t finish his bloody sentences.” I did the same as Rochelle, except I had my chemistry book in my hand. I walked Rochelle to class as hers was on the way to mine. When she waved me goodbye, I saw her perfect straight white teeth, with her bag slung over her shoulder. I noticed when she stepped in, most of the boys looked at her with drool on the side of their mouths. I laughed as I made my way to Chemistry.

I made it just in time to take my seat before Miss G began. She was nice, I liked her. She was quite young and I loved the way she taught. It made chemistry seem so easy. I didn’t have many friends in that class. I was such a loner. I can’t wait to go home I thought. We went through the topics we did last semester and revised the periodic table.

“Bloody hell, this day sure is dragging on isn’t it?” Rochelle said. She began eating her sandwich which was neatly folded in the most perfect way. I laughed when she munched. It seemed cute.

“Tell me about it,” I began “It’s only lunch!” Rochelle finished her sandwich before she began to talk again. “Two more hours to go!”

“I’ve only met one newbie, and she was so weird,” exclaimed Rochelle. “She wore a necklace with the death sign on it,” she whispered with a hand covering her mouth and my ear. “It freaked me out. She wore black make up too.”

“She’s a deathstar. A wannabe dead gangster I bet,” I replied. I didn’t encounter any one new at that time so I had nothing to add.

“Have you still been having dreams about this mysterious utterly random guy?” Rochelle asked, with signs of interest on her face. “It’s a bit weird, having dreams about someone you’ve never actually met.”

“Yeah, they’re still happening. I know. This is the first time I’ve ever had dreams about someone I’ve never met.”

“Well at least when you go to sleep, you know that you’re going to have exciting dreams! Seriously, I get dreams about failing my finals next year and being a cleaner when I’m old. It’s depressing.”

“What about that dream you had of Ben Rogers. I think you should date him. He is fine.” I looked towards his table, but he wasn’t there. I guess he was at a gym getting even more tank then he already was.

“Oh my Gosh Ally, don’t bring that up. It was last year, and you know he wouldn’t go for me.” Rochelle looked down and sighed. Don’t you hate perfect people who don’t think their perfect?!

“Everyone would go for you Rochelle. Seriously. Haven’t you noticed the way every guy looks at you? You’re like the number one love interest of the school. You always have been.” Rochelle looked up towards me and smiled.

“Nawh Ally, I love you.”

Thank God, last period I thought. I walked into class and sat down in a seat near the front. Hey, just because I sat at the front didn’t mean it was because I was a nerd. Biology was always the most interesting class to me. Mr. Bonnet began talking and welcoming the class back from our holidays. He soon talked about last semester and began to revise what we covered.

“In a few weeks time we will be doing a project-“ Mr. Bonnet was cut off when a knock came through the door. “Yes?” The door knob slowly turned and the door opened. A boy who looked about 5 foot nine with blonde hair and blue eyes walked through the old brown door with the small window.  I was in shock, paralyzed with amazement. I just froze with my pen still in-between my teeth.  “What can I help you with boy?” asked Mr. Bonnet.  The boy looked around the class casually and shrugged his bag so that the bag was sitting on only one of his shoulders. The other arm was free as he reached out for a handshake directed to Mr. Bonnet.

“Good afternoon sir, my name is Vincent Jackson. I’m sorry I was late, Mr. Rochkins took me around the school and showed me to my locker when I arrived at two o’clock.” He looked sincere as he spoke and turned to look about the class. His voice seemed to echo in my head. No one was really paying attention as far as I could see; they were all muttering, chewing gum and throwing notes around the class.

Is this some kind of sick joke?  I questioned myself. He can’t be here. This isn’t real. This is just… I didn’t know what it was. He was the guy from my dream. He looked just like him. The hair, the eyes, and the way he walked. I was dumbfounded.

“Well you didn’t get off at a good start did you Mr. Jackson?” Mr. Bonnet looked at the boy in front of him then pointed towards a seat behind me. “You may sit there.” Vincent made his way forward to his seat. As he passed, I smelt his scent which made me go nuts. This is reality then I thought to myself as I dare not turn to look at him.

As soon as the class ended I rushed out the door and ran to the bus stop. Maybe if I didn’t acknowledge him then I wouldn’t think about this weird coincidence too much. I just have to call Rochelle.
