I called Anna. But she didn't pick up, though it was received.

I heard a male voice. "Hello?"

"Anna?"

There was silence. I heard sounds there, and then Anna's voice.

"Chris? Hi honey, sorry, that was just Jack-"

I was enraged. Because I knew that wasn't Jack.

"Anna, please don't lie to me! I know that wasn't Jack! Who was that?"

"Chris, it's nothing.."

"Anna, tell me, now!"

"It's nothing about you Chris!" What?!

"Hold on.. are you literally-"

"Chris, just shut up!"

She hung up, and I was fuming inside. And angered. How could my wife be cheating on me? I would have thrown the phone had my senses not been back, but I was unable to say anything. My worries were right after all.

Just shaken from this, I went to my room. 2 minutes later, I heard a knock on my door. I got up, still angry.

"Wow Anna, did you fly all the way here to-"

I opened the door, and saw Bryce.

"Apologise?"

She had that worried look in her eyes.

"Oh, hi."

"Hi. Can I come in?" she asked, innocently.

"Sure," I said. We sat down on the bed. "What happened?"

"That's exactly what I want to know Chris."

Damn. She heard.

Bryce's POV

I was in my room, when I heard distant sounds of shouting. I opened the door.

"Anna, tell me, now!"

I recognised that voice immediately, and quietly though, rushed to the source of the sound. I saw him crestfallen, about to throw his phone. He looked bitterly hurt. I didn't give him any sign of my presence. He went back to his room, and I looked in that direction, saddened by what had just happened. Thankfully, I was the only one who had listened.

I walked to his door, and knocked. I heard him. "Wow Anna, did you fly all the way here to-"

He opened the door, and saw me. "Apologise?"

"Can I come in?"

"Sure." I went in, and closed the door. We sat down on his bed. "What happened?"

"That's exactly what I want to know Chris," I said.

He looked silent. I gave him the time he needed.

"Anna.. something went wrong.. I rang her up, but I heard a man at the other end. She told me it was Jack, but I got angry 'cause I know it wasn't. I can't believe she would lie to me."

He finished. His eyes were full of hurt, and tears were beginning to form.

I don't know what happened to me, but I went forward, and wiped his tears. He looked surprised, but I just smiled in return.

"It's gonna be fine, Chris.. alright?" I told him, reassuringly.

"Thanks.."

We stood up, as he went with him to the door.

"Well, good night," I said.

"Good night," he replied.

But it was just 5 seconds later, that the gap between us closed. And it was not a dream.

Our lips finally met, in the silence of his room and the night. It lasted short, but I already felt different by then. We slowly pulled back, and I left. I locked my room, sat on my bed, and closed my eyes, thinking, "What have you done?"

The limits were no more. They were broken limits.
