Ch 2

A soft knock on the door made Jimin look up, at the door of his and his father's shared office, stood his sister, peeking her head in with a cheeky grin.

"You wanted to see me father?" She asked, her long brown hair falling like caramel to the side as she tilted her head to the side.

Jimin's eyes travelled across the room to the large redwood desk, adjacent to his own, the man behind it closed whatever he was working on on his computer as he looked up at his beloved daughter, a smile creeping its way up to his stoic expression, causing his aged face to gather wrinkles.

"Ji-yong!" He exclaimed, "Yes, come in my child."

Jiyong opened the door fully, walking in and closing it behind her. Her five inch heels click-clacked against the smooth wood, and created small thuds of the patterned rug in the middle of the office.

Jimin put down his file to observe the conversation about to unfold between his father and sister.

As she approached his desk, he rolled his leather chair back to stand up. Jimin raised an eyebrow, now even more intrigued.

Their father usually asked them to sit down in one of the chairs in front of his desk, but if he stood up, then this must be really important.

"What can I do for you father?" She asked. She had got a little tense and nervous after judging her father's behaviour.

He gave her a wide smile. Then turned around looking out the floor to ceiling window behind his desk.

"As you know, I promised you-" he took a pause and clasped his hands. "-And myself, that before I retire, and hand my company over , I wanted to secure both of your future, and see you and jimin successful.’’ He turned and took a brief glance towards him.

"But since I have only one company, and two children, it has been my goal to increase my empire, so that I won't have to divide this company between the two of you." He turned back to face Ji-yong, a wide grin on his face.

"And now, I finally have a solution!" He announced, spreading his arms out as if to show victory.

Both Ji-yong and Jimin furrowed their brows in confusion as they exchanged looks. What was father talking about?

"Ji-yong my daughter," he stepped forward to clasp his hands on the sides of her shoulders. "You are to be wedded! To the son of Jeon Do-hwa, CEO of Jeon enterprise."

Both the siblings gawked at their father in shock. "What?" Ji-yong scoffed, pulling away. "Dad, you are joking?"

It was his turn to furrow his brows. "Of Course not. Listen, me and Mr. Jeon talked. He is also planning to retire soon. But his son, who works as an idol, refuses to leave his career anytime soon. He needs an heir to his company, someone capable enough to handle the responsibility. And you're exactly the right person!"

"Dad, I don't care who he is! I'm not getting married to a man I know nothing about!" Ji-yong protested.

"Just look at the guy, will you?" His father slipped a piece of paper -which, Jimin assumed was a photograph of the guy-  across his desk, Ji-yong grudgingly looked at it, picking the picture in her hands.

Her eyes instantly widened, causing Jimin to wonder what was in the photo. Was the guy extremely handsome? Or extremely ugly? Either way, Ji-yong snapped her head to gawk at their father.

"YOU WANT ME TO MARRY JEON FREAKING JUNGKOOK?!?!?" she screamed.

Jimin's eyes widened a little too. His eyes bouncing between his father and sister going back and forth to guess if either of them were joking.

Turns out that was not the case.

"So she agreed? Just like that!?" Hoseok questioned, his forehead creasing.

Jimin laughed as he put down his bowl of cereal. "Hah, no. Ji-yong is not that shallow, even though the prospect of a hot idol husband seemed tempting, she has her own morals."  Jimin jumped off the counter and started to fix his suit. Hoseok patting down and creases.

"Dad told her that the wedding wouldn't be immediate, they would have time to get to know each other before anything became final. That and an hour of persuading before she finally agreed."

"So now that he's finally in Korea after a long concert tour, we're going to have dinner with him and his family. Yay me!" Hoseok giggled. His phone made a sound and Jimin checked the message, signifying that it was time for him to leave.

"Shit he's here, gotta go." He looked at Hoseok one last time with a guilty expression. "Are you sure you don't wanna come?"

Hoseok smiled. "Your father has just started to warm up to me, I think we shouldn't push it." He leaned forward to give Jimin a kiss, wrapping his arm around the boy who did the same. "I don't wanna leave." Jimin whined against his lips. Hoseok chuckled, lightly pushing the man away. He patted him on his chest and pushed him out the door. Jimin continued to frown like a lost puppy. "Go!" He shouted at the puppy. "I love you!" The puppy shouted back before turning and walking away.

Hoseok smiled widely. "I love you too idiot." He whispered to himself.

Jimin climbed into the huge black car and settled down in the backseat, tugging at his tie and sleeves one last time to fix it after running through the whole lobby, so as to not make his father wait.

"Good morning, father." Jimin greeted the man in the passenger seat.

Mr. Park looked much older than him, obviously, but still quite young for his age.

Although a few wrinkles had managed to creep up his skin, through years of scowling, especially in the last few years and specifically at Jimin.

"Good morning Jimin." He grunted. A few seconds later he continued. "How's...a how's your.. how is Hose-"

"You don't have to ask dad." He sighed. Even though Jimin was sitting behind him,his father was scowling again. He'd seen it so many times, he could tell his father's expression from the back of his head, from a mile away.

"No. No. He is my son's w-…. partner. It's basic courtesy to ask."

Jimin would have corrected him by saying husband, actually, but his father had recently stopped calling him his concubine and earlier some harsher words Jimin would rather not mention. Partner was a massive improvement.

Jimin's father raised his hand and motioned the driver to move, who hastily started the car after awkwardly witnessing the strange exchange between the father and son.

He was new on the job, and the old driver had warned him that the air tended to be dense, but no-one told poor Se-gi that he practically wouldn't be able to breathe.
