The rare earthquake that struck east central Illinois had been very minor, than goodness. No serious damage had been done to my 150-year-old home. Still, it had caused a few minor annoyances: glasses fell out of the cabinets, the can of fish food fell into the fish tank (now I have some very plump fish), and the boards in the back of my closet had separated a little bit more. So it was one evening as I was laying down to sleep, I saw dim light emanating from between those boards in the back of my closet. Curious, I delved between the hanging shirts and pants and put my fingers between the boards and began to pry. They came loose with very little trouble, revealing a small, square room that no one in my family had ever known anything about. But it was the contents of the room that caused I, first, quite a shock, and then, powerful curiosity. There was a very old but flawless classical guitar on a stand, and surrounding the guitar, in a semicircle on the floor was a human skeleton.
I was startled, most likely, it is not an average thing to find a human skeleton in your house.
Oh yeah, I should probably introduce myself, my name is Gilbert, and I AM AWESOME! So, I should explain appearance since, let's face it! You wouldn't want to imagine some random person, with no looks. Well, I have white hair and red eyes, now I am wearing a tank top with my favorite person on it. ME! I am wearing some sweatpants. Oh, yeah I should probably continue... Remember kids. I AM AWESOME!!!
I got off of my lazy bum and started crawling into the doorway of the room. As soon as I got to the center of the room I stood up and started looking around. (more like picking things up to examine it.) I walked over to the skeleton to examine it. I didn't know what to do with it, and so I did what any other person would do.
I picked the skull of the skeleton up off of the ground. All these random species of bugs, crawling out of it. The bugs had to startle me, I dropped the skull causing it to crack and break open against the hard concrete floor.
I looked down to see that, amongst the broken pieces, there was a scrap of paper. The curious person I was, I picked up the fragment and held it close to eye-level to get a better view of it. I realized that the paper was folded, and through the folds, I could see some writing of some sort. I opened the piece of paper, started reading over the writing. It wrote Ye who are to find this, is to find a reward. All you have to do is follow the instinct that was given, and guide yourself, to find what you seek. Well, I seek babes, money, and fame so... I could get all of that with money.
In the corner of my eye, something had caught my attention that hadn't before. There was a lever next to the bookshelf.
I walked over to the bookshelf and pulled the lever. All of a sudden, the ground beneath me was no longer there. I looked up to see that the light from the room was getting farther and farther away. I got ready to brace myself for the impact on the ground.
Shockingly, it never came. I looked around my surroundings to see that I was floating above the ground. I started spinning and doing all these flips. Suddenly all the gravity came back and I face-planted onto the floor, now I'm going to have a bruise on my face, that's gonna hurt later. MY FACE WILL LOOK HIDEOUS!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!
I looked up from the floor to see that light was circling me. The light is too bright I closed my eyes, lifted myself off of the floor, and walked to the nearest wall to find an exit.
After what I could assume to have been five minutes, I opened my eyes, the light being not as bright as before. To see that there was no wall, I felt something in my hands. It was the same slip of paper from before. I opened it again and saw that there was new writing. What kind of sorcery is this?

Hold your breath! It read
"What the heck is that supposed to mean?" The second I said that aloud the floor beneath me vanished and I was falling into darkness.
I looked all around me panicking thinking to myself, would this be the end? I turned my head upward to see that the light from the room was growing smaller and smaller, then vanishing out of existence.
I tried to breathe in the air to calm myself, but there was no air to breathe in. I felt like I was drowning but there was no water surrounding me.
I glanced down to see that there was a floor, coming closer to me than my liking.
I nervously tried to find something that could stop me from becoming a pancake.
I shut my eyes, and I got ready for the impact, that had never come.
I opened my eyes to see I was floating directly above the ground's surface. I sucked in a large amount of air and found that there was oxygen.
I had decided to enjoy myself. I started doing some flips, and just floating around. As I was about to start another flip, gravity just then decided 'Oh you know what! I'm going to give this fella a whole lot of pain' then I face-planted onto the hard surface.
I had gotten off of the ground and started walking around. This place was just the color white.
All of a sudden, the ground started shaking. "Aftershock!" I said to myself
That small aftershock was enough to make a crack in the wall. I saw what looked to be a ray of sunshine coming through the crack. I started running over to the wall. No matter how fast I ran, I was still in the same position.
I remembered the slip of paper and how it could give me hints.
I opened the slip of paper that somehow managed to appear in my pocket, and it read, use your instrument that you can hear, but you can not touch or see me.
What type of instrument, I don't even own a single instrument, well... unless you count the spoons but... there is the Theremin. I don't own that.
Then it hit me, My voice. I can hear it, I can't touch it, and I can't see it. That has to be it!
I started humming an old song that my Father had sung to me, whenever I was young and there was a scary natural disaster.
I started walking, actually getting closer to the crack. Soon I had arrived, I took a peek through the crack and saw so many men and women marching somewhere. I started leaning against the wall to try and get a better view of what was happening, and try to hear what they were saying.
I guess I had leaned too far, because the crack in the wall started expanding without me knowing, and then I ended up falling through the hole in the wall.
The moment I fell hit the ground, there was a loud thud.
Nobody noticed, and I am very happy they hadn't noticed. That would have been rather embarrassing.
I heard them singing a song, one I know I heard before, I believe it was "America".
I walked up to a man and asked him what are you marching for? He just ignored me and so I asked again, but with a louder voice.
I remembered the paper, maybe it could explain.
It wrote Idiot, they can't see you, you are just seeing an event in history.
Wow! Thanks! Very helpful.
Soon the capital Washington, D.C. came to view, There were two people on the steps of the capital. The marchers then proceeded to present multiple petitions that would allow a constitutional amendment to be made so the making and selling of intoxicants in the United States to be prohibited. If only I could talk to them, then I could tell them that there would be no use, and that crime would increase.
Abruptly, there was a bright light. I closed my eyes shut, so I wouldn't be blinded. I was in the white room again except that there were many doors. I decided to pick another door, it was the tenth one.
I opened the door and saw women talking, they had on these old fashioned clothes. They looked so weird
I decided to start listening to what they are talking about.
I tripped in the doorway, the moment I fell hit the ground, there was a loud thud.
The ladies didn't even flinch or notice me. I sat up from laying on my stomach to sitting Indian style. One of the girls with blonde hair started talking back and forth between one another.
"Did you hear about the stock market?"
"Oh, yes I did Katheryn!"
"It is destroying confidence in Wall Street markets." The two ladies started walking in a different direction. I started following them, they then arrived at what looks like a house, I couldn't tell from how far away I am.

The brunette gasped "How bad do you think it is going to be?"
"People might get put out of jobs, America might be in debt, and some people might not even have any homes."
"Really, I heard that the banks were taking our money without our knowledge."
"And that is why I never trusted banks."
I ran directly in front of the two women. They just ignored me while I was walking up to them! How rude! And so I started talking with them
"Hello, ladies! I have not heard anything about that. The banks can't even do that to the people. Plus, why are you even talking about the stock market? Nobody really cares for it. The only people who could care for it, are boomers! The real talk should be about the corona-virus!"
It felt like I was a ghost!
I tried to grab her hand but my hand just went straight through hers.
I felt something heat up in my pocket, it was scorching my bum. I remembered the slip of paper was there so I pulled it out of my pocket. It read,
This was the last sight, sorry but your time has expired!
Abruptly, there was a bright light. I closed my eyes shut, so I wouldn't be blinded.
I opened my eyes to see that I was back in that small room again with the guitar I went to go and grab the guitar, the moment that my hand came in contact with it I seemed to have teleported back to my bed. I would like to know what happens during the next earthquake. Now, TIME TO GO FEED MY AWESOME FISH!
~Twenty years Later~
Hello, my name is Amelia Beilschmidt, today there was just an earthquake. It was super cool, and scary. I have to go to bed now.
I walked over to my bed and laid my head down on my wonderful fluffy pillow, I love it so much, It is Awesome.
I looked over to my closet, and there was a small light coming from it. I stood up off of my bed, opened the closet door and sat down on the board that had come loose, I started to take it off and crawled my way inside, in a semicircle on the floor was a human skeleton. I looked around nervously and saw that over by the closet there was another pile of bones lying next to it. I ran up to the pile to examine it, there was a black widow on it and so I dropped the skull. Inside where the brain should have been was a piece of paper. Next to the pile of bones was a lever. I wonder what it does, I walked over to it and pulled the lever and then...
