She would be thirty in six months and she was feeling great about her own life and her perspectives for the future. Letícia Marques de Souza was a technical assistant for the Federal Police for six years and just got the news that she would be moved to her hometown as the head of the new police department.

Lety lived in Barreiras, Bahia, for nine years, since she started the College and now she was really happy to go back to Feira de Santana. About a year ago, she heard about some changes that would happen in the team. Nothing special, just a few people getting retired in that year, so the chances of being promoted were high. She longed for a change of position and was the most rated for the post of head of department. She worked hard since she got into the police and felt ready to reach higher places on her career.

She didn't think twice and signed up for the job. Lety liked Barreiras, but she preferred Feira de Santana. She loved her hometown and missed the nice night walks, the cozy neighborhood and, mainly, she missed her family. So, going back home, with the post she longed and deserved so much, was a true gift to her.

- It's so good you are back for real, honey! - her mother said with tears in the eyes.

She just landed on the Luís Eduardo Magalhães International Airport, in Salvador.

Feira de Santana doesn't have an airport, so she'd go to the charming Princess of Sertão with her parents by car.

- I'm happy, too, mom. - she said hugging tight her parents.

And she really was. Lety always went back to her hometown on her vacations, but it wasn't the same thing of being close to her family every day and talk amenities to her family and friends and relax from the stresses of work. She sure made friends on the department and her college fellows, but she was very discret and didn't feel willing to open up herself to them.

- Let's go. - her father said - Your grandmother can't wait to see you.

Along the way between the two cities, that lasted a bit more than one hour and a half, Lety sang all her favorite songs, which her parents had uploaded on a pen drive. When they got her parents' home, where she'd stay for a while, she got a good surprise.

- Welcoooome!!

It was Saturday, international day of cleaning up, at her parents' house, so she didn't think that her whole family and closest friends would be there to welcome her for coming back home definitely.

- Oh, my God! - she cried when she was hugged by a collective hug. - I didn't expect this. I don't know what to say! - she was too thrilled, she knew that she was loved by her family, but she hadn't imagined such show of affection.

- You don't need to say anything, just enjoy it, 'cause, now that you're back, you won't have another party like this so soon. - Sandra said, her older cousin.

Everybody laughed and, as soon as Lety left her luggage in her old room, she was dragged to her welcome party. And then she was involved in the conversations, dancing, laughing at her uncle George's jokes and already being her younger brother's favorite joke again.

- Lety! - Ingrid, her best friend, called her attention - Tomorrow's Paralamas do Sucesso live show, you're coming, and you don't have an excuse. You'll rest enough until there.

Ingrid was like this, too invasive and spontaneous. The two of them were opposite, even though they shared many thoughts and ideals. Perhaps it was that contrast between them that kept the friendship strong since they were eleven, when they've met at school.

At that time, Ingrid had just moved from her hometown because of her mother's job and she started to study in the same class as Lety. At first, she misunderstood the little blond girl with her green eyes competing for the place of the most intelligent girl of the class, but, once Lety saw that they had a lot in common, a true friendship started and it still lasts nowadays.
