  "Hello" the voice spoke through the speaker as soon as Topaz picked her ringing phone.

   "Hello, who's this?" She enquired.

   "Hey, it's me Jake" the voice spoke, catching her off guard causing her phone to almost slip through her fingers.

   Huh? She thought with wide eyes.

   "Umm, who gave you my number?"

   "Well, I have my sources" he replied and she could practically hear a smug in his voice.

   "Sources?... you do realise how much creepy, terrifying and stalkerish it sound?"

   "Yeah, yeah I know. The main reason behind this act was to ask you to go to a carnival with me" he replied.

   Topaz looked at the phone incredulously.

  That can't be... I repeat, CAN'T be happening. Jake, the very very Jake asking me to go on a carnival with him? She thought to herself as an uneasy silence settled on the line. Her heart jumped down to her stomach and she felt light headed.

   "Umm Topaz, are you coming?" Jake popped the silence bubble and brought Topaz out of the trance.

   "Humhmm... I..."

   "Please say yes" Jake pleaded.

   "Fine"

   "Good, get ready in 10. I'll coming to pick you up" he said before hanging up, leaving Topaz utterly speechless.

 **10 minutes later**

   As said, Topaz stood outside the gate of her home in"Get Me!" Printed pink tee and best jeans with pink flat shoes. Her hair done in a high ponytail and much less a lip gloss over her rosy lips. From head till toe, she looked extremely marvelous.

   Just then a black car turned into the road and came to a hault infront of her.

   She jumped with surprise, but then huffed and rolled her eyes as Jakes handsome face came to view after he rolled down the tinted window glass.

   Handsome?... okay that wasn't me.. she thought as a light blush crept to her cheeks.

   Skipping her steps, she finally sat down on the passenger seat.

  "You look good" Jake complimented with a gorgeous boyish smile.

   "Umm, thanks. You are not bad yourself" she blushed turning to face him. She then drank in his appearance quickly. He wore a black skinny jeans with a royal blue, smart-fit, front buttoned shirt. With his front hair done in a quiff and boyish smile over his lip.

   The top most button open and the sleeves rolled up till his elbows. All n all he should have gotten a ticket for being so godly made handsome.

 ---

   "No MAN!!" Jake whined as the dart missed it's target yet once again.

   "Give it to me" Topaz said as she huffed over his failure attempts.

   "No! I want to win that for you" he said as he closed one of his eye and aimed at the target once again.

   Her heart skipped a beat, as his words finally got registered in her brain.

   He was doing this for me?!

   "Ahaa!" Jake fist pumped as a 'ding' sounded. The man at the back of the counter smiled and handed over a blue dolphin to him.

   Topaz's eyes widened up and she gasped stepping back as Jake got down to one knee.

   "This is for you, Topez" he said with a gorgeous smile.

   "I... I... thank you, Jake" she shuttered to complete her sentence and slowly grabbed hold of the stuffed toy.

   She felt light headed and her heart hammered against her chest.

   "Come on! We need to catch up with that ferris wheel" Jake was back up and was pulling Topaz along towards the huge wheel.

   That was exactly when her fear from heights kicked in and she abruptly stopped, causing Jake to almost trip over.

   "I can't go" she said stepping back.

   "Why not?" Jake said reaching out for her.

   "I... I... am scared of heights" she mumbled and looked at the floor.

  Soon after she heard foot step and a finger came down to her chin to pull her face up ever more gently.

   "Topez, there is no need to be scared of anything. I will always save the day for you like a Superman" Jake said with sincerity and softness dripped from his features as he locked eyes with her.

   A slow smile pulled her lips up as she ran into Jake's open arms. They laughed.

   This was her happily ever after. In Jake's strong arms, smiling and finally understanding that maybe a girl like her can like a boy like him.
