Chapter 5:Blank Space

Lena

The moment I saw him, my world turned blank. I didn't know what I was feeling. I was furious, mad and upset at the same time. I didn't know why I was mad at him but seeing him with another girl made me want to pull him out of the room and kiss him but I know that I don't have a chance with him since I broke up with him to be with another man.

So why am I feeling this way? Is it because I'm jealous that he had moved on from me? Or am I jealous because she's prettier than me or even more?

The sound of someone clearing their throat brought me back to my senses as Dr. Evans told them that I will be the one to examine 'her' foot. I inwardly groaned but I had no choice.

I nodded and told the girl to change out in hospital robe. She nodded as Nathan walked out of the room still a little daze about the encounter. She changed to the robe as I examined her foot.

After giving her an x-ray, I told her to change back to her clothes as she nodded yet again in response. Does this girl ever speak? I thought to myself as I rolled my eyes inwardly.

After changing her clothes, we both got out of the room as we saw Nathan standing, waiting for her to come out. Oh how I wish it was me who he's waiting for.

Before Nathan could turn and walked away with the girl, I grabbed him by the elbow making him turn to look at me as I told him that he shouldn't hang around people he barely know and his response was "I got it." then he walked away with her.

Taylor

The next day came by a blur. My feet no longer hurt as it did yesterday. I was still confuse of why they acted that way when they saw each other but I just shrugged the thought off.

I felt a soft purr on my leg as I looked down to see Meredith purring and circling on my leg indicating she wanted to eat. I quickly got the cat food and realized that this is the last can of it. I mentally noted myself to buy a cat food later on today and in hopes of seeing him again at the grocery.

Making a smile creep its way on my face. I poured the cat food on Meredith's bowl before petting her head.

I grabbed my coat and slip on my shoes as I make my way to the grocery store. Looking forward of seeing him again. But to my dismay he wasn't there. He never came to the store. So I left the store with a plastic of cat food and ice cream in my arms with a frown etched on my face as I walked back to my house in disappointment.

Nathan

I didn't go to the grocery store for about two days now. And I feel kinda... upset. I didn't know why I'm upset.

Is it because I saw Lena on the hospital with Alison by my side? Or was it because I feel upset that I didn't get to see her this past two days?

My brows knitted in concentration as I thought of seeing her again.

The way she looked at me with her ocean blue eyes that had me mesmerize every time my eyes landed on them. The way her hand would brush unto mine that almost send me over the edge. The way her soft and gentle voice could calm me down.

But most of all those cherry red lips that sometimes I caught myself staring at them as I lick my own lips, imagining the feel of her soft lips on mine. Her lavender scent that made me want to wrapped my arms around her and just be close to her as I soaked in her scent. The fact that her head fit perfectly at the crook of my neck seems like a puzzle just found its missing piece.

I shook my head as I got in class. As usual Lena sat beside me but I didn't have to turn and look who it was.

After class, Lena approached me, asking if she could go to my house, thinking that it was just for old times sake, I agreed. But I told her that I'd have to stop by the bookstore because I needed to buy a new book and the grocery store because I was running out of food in the fridge, she nodded and then we head out to the school parking lot, and drive straight to the bookstore, it was already evening when we got to the bookstore because our class ended late.

I grabbed a book about patent laws, while searching for another relevant book, the store played a song entitled 'You belong with me', it was quite a catchy song that I waited till they announce the artist and minutes later, "And that song ladies and gentlemen was sang by the one and only Taylor Swift." then suddenly Lena said she was getting hungry so I hurried to pay the books I bought.

The song still playing in my head like a whack-out record. We drove out again, silent from the moment we heard the song, and finally we reach the grocery store. We got out and she instantly grabbed my arm saying she was cold so I let her be.

When we got inside, I dusted some snow that sticked to my jacket and pants, we got a basket and just when we were about to go to the vegetable aisle, something or someone caught my eye, a girl standing by the corner carrying a plastic bag filled with leafy greens and a bag of popcorn. I was shocked to see her standing there.

Lena then suddenly clutches my right arm in between her chest then she said, "Let's go honey!" but I didn't hear her because I was stopped dead in my tracks.

The girl with hypnotizing blue eyes dropped the bag she was carrying and ran outside. I wanted to run after her but it didn't seem right because she wasn't anyone to me, just a girl I got tangled in a situation with and nothing more.

When we finished grocery shopping, Lena and I got inside the car. I started the engine but suddenly Lena unbuckled her seatbelt and sat in my lap, face front at me she leaned in for a kiss which meant trouble for me because I didn't want to get committed to anyone who would only hurt me, Lena was my first love and also my first mistake.

I didn't want to make the same mistakes I did with her so just when our lips would have met I avoided her and said "Aren't you hungry? Coz' I thought I heard you say you were hungry when we were at the bookstore."

She instantly backed away and sat down the passenger seat beside me. There weren't enough cars so it was a smooth and quiet ride home. We arrived at my apartment, we got out and I almost forgot she was with me coz' I was about to slam the door shut, she got in and I set down the groceries near the sink.

She went to my room and opened my laptop, she then hit the mainstream youtube to hear songs, suddenly I heard the same song play.

"Hey! You should really see this!" she said, "She looks just like her."

I asked "Who looks like her?"

she yells "Alison Finlay and Taylor Swift, they look alike, like really!!".

I told her it was just her imagination, while calling her out to help me cook, moments later, we finish cooking and set up the table. Both of us, opposite of each other.

After a few minutes, we finished eating, I noticed the time and told her to go home, she said she didn't wanna but I pushed her straight to the doorway. I know you might say Im not quite the gentleman #bacheloroftheyear but believe me when I say Ive become a bachelor once and didn't want to be in a relationship again.
