The wind picked up as the sand storm got closer to the small junk yard. Elaine and Newt still slept, even through all the noise the wind made.

Suddenly the shipping container shook causing Elaine to sit up quickly. And then she noticed the gust of sand and wind outside.
"Newt" she crawled over to Newt and started to shake him awake.

He stirred, and his eyes slowly opened.
"Wake up!" Elaine said.
"Geez wha-" he sat up and before he could finish his sentence a powerful gust of wind moved the shipping container a bit.

And then he took notice to the swirling sand storm outside.
"It looks like we won't be going anywhere today" Elaine said looking at Newt, who looked as shocked and worried as she did.

"How long do you think it'll last?" Newt asked
"I don't know, most sandstorms can last up to five days with wind speeds of 60 mile an hour" Elaine said in a matter-of-fact tone.

Then the container moved yet again, causing Elaine to topple over onto Newt, landing square on his chest.

"Oh, um...s-sorry" Elaine stuttered sitting back up.

Newts cheeks turned a bright crimson, as he looked away back towards the sand storm.

The two sat opposite of each other. Elaine sitting on her knees looking at the storm as it passed by on the right side, and Newt standing leaning against the thin metal wall of the left side.

They stayed quiet, just listening to the sound of the wind.

Elaine grew hungry, and dug through his pack and found some protein bars. She surprised herself at how she was rarely hungry during their journey, especially with all the walking.

"Hungry?" Elaine asked Newt holding up another bar.
He nodded his head without speaking and Elaine tossed the bar to him, which he caught skillfully with one hand.

It had been a day and the sandstorm was still raging on. Newt and Elaine often made small talk but kept to themselves most of the time.

At one point a small holo stick rolled into the container, and Elaine decided to carve it into a flute. Carefully she carved out small holes and a mouth piece with her knife.

She blew through the mouth piece to see how it would sound. And the sounded like a pterodactyl screech.
"Geez, what the shuck was that?" Newt asked holding his hands to his ears.
"Sorry" Elaine said and got back to work on the homemade flute.

"Do you play?" Newt asked suddenly pointing to the almost finished flute.
"I used to...I think. I have faint memories of sitting in a white room playing one. And it was always the same tune" Elaine replied as she finished carving the flute.

It was about 12 inches long, with small holes for the air to blow through to make the music, and it was a smooth wood.

"Do you mind playing?"Newt asked
"I-I mean..." Elaine looked at the flute and hesitated, "I guess" She answered.

She held the flute up to her mouth and covered some of the holes with her fingers, and blew into it creating a soothing melody.

The tune sounded like a song you would hum while you walked into a forest. A song that kept you going forward, and song that never seemed to have an ending.

And to Elaine's surprise, she had remembered every note, and lyric to the song.

And played it like she had remembered it clearly in the memory.
