Harper dropped her box that she had in her hands, filled with a dozen cupcakes. I screamed. She screamed. She jumped and hugged me. We hugged for what seemed like a lifetime. All I really needed was a hug from her, but a sleepover for 2 days? Even better. She picked up the cupcake box and apologized to my mom. She said it was fine, and was happy to finally see me happy again. She looked at me the way she looked at me when I told her when I was moving. It was only a split second, but it felt like a million. She smiles at my mom and follows me to my room. When we closed my bedroom door, she looked at me the way she just did a second ago, but more confused. I look around the room and look at her. "What?" "What does your mom mean by finally see you happy again?" I sit down on the end of the bed, looking at my feet. "I haven't been happy for a long time. I've kinda been... depressed. I just needed to see you." Harper smiled. "Well, I'm here now, aren't I?" I laughed, and she did the same. We talked about stupid things for hours while laughing so hard our stomachs hurt. My mom comes into my room, and sees us on the floor, laughing so hard she thought we were gonna pee our pants. "I see you guys are having some fun!" "Yeah! Thanks again for having me over Mrs. Anderson!" Harper said, catching her breath. My mom smiled. "Anytime. We need more laughter Amaya, and less crying Amaya." My mom says, walking out of the room. Harper grabs out her phone, clicking on the app tiktok. We did so many dances, and in every single one we laughed super hard in the end from how weird we looked. We did that for about 2 hours. We sat down from so much laughter. Our arms touched. Me and Harper looked at our beaded bracelets, and then looked at each other. "I remember when we made this." Harper said, getting pulled into memories. I smiled, and laughed. "Yeah. It took us forever to make these." She nodded and laughed. We talked about more memories. My mom walked in on us walking about memories. "Guys you guys know its midnight, right?" I checked my watch. "Dang we have been talking about memories for 4 hours." Harper was surprised. "Well it's time to settle down, ok? Get your popcorn and put up a Netflix show." She said. We nodded. She walked out of the room. We changed into our pajamas, and got our popcorn and show on. We binge watched till we fell asleep.
