"Oikawa"

Oikawa stood in the middle of the room, his long robes brushing the ground near his feet. He was smiling, his eyes crinkled, white teeth shining in the light coming from an open window. When he met Suga's eyes, he stalled, the robe he was folding hung in midair.

"Suga" his face fell just the slightest bit, eyes widening when he saw Suga standing in the doorway.

Suga quickly turned his attention away from Oikawa, focusing on the other 3 people in the room. "Hi Makki, Mattsun, Teru."

"Hey Suga," Makki responded, he used his wand to smoothly unpack his suitcase, the clothes floating to their appropriate spots. "How was your break?"

"It was...good," Suga answered uneasily, it was a bit too early to tell them about Daichi, especially with Oikawa in the room.

Suga went over to his bed and collapsed, bringing a pillow over his face. He knew somewhere in his head that Oikawa was coming back, but he didn't expect it to be so soon. He was in such a good mood this morning, which was always dangerous. He knew from experience that if he woke up in a good mood, something would come along to spoil it. A bad grade, a lost quidditch match, were just examples of some things that had spoiled his mood in the past.

"Hey Suga, are you okay?" Terushima's voice was muffled through the pillow.

Suga sat up, pushing the pillow off his face. "Yeah I'm fine. How was your break Teru?"

"It was okay, I met this really cute girl though."

"Just like last year when you met the really cute boy?" Suga asked dryly. Terushima was always coming back from breaks with new stories of the cute people he met. Boys, girls, somewhere in between, neither, Suga had heard too many stories.

"Hey!"

"Im just kidding," Suga said, moving his books so Terushima could put some of his stuff away.

The next few minutes were quiet. The soft ruffling of clothes, the occasional swish of a wand, books hitting hard surfaces, played out in the background as Suga relaxed. This was familiar. The room had felt so empty and lonely with out his friends.

Suga turned his head to the right and watched Oikawa pop up from the ground. He caught Suga's eye and smiled softly, not daring to say any words.

A sharp feeling of pain twisted in Suga's gut. Suga had spent the entire first night of break crying, curled up on a couch in the studio, but he couldn't help but wonder what Oikawa did. Does he get the same feeling of regret, guilt, knocking the breath out of him every time he looks at Suga.

Suga felt constricted, as if the room had just shrunk and if he didn't get out so he was going to suffocate. He stood up quickly, and walked over towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Terushima asked.

"I... have to study." Suga said lamely. "Classes start back up tomorrow" and without another word he left, the door closing sharply behind him.

The walls passed by in a blur. Suga didn't know where he was going, all he knew was that he needed to get out of the room.

His feet pounded against the floor, up stairs, across snow. It had seemed like he'd walked around the castle multiple times at this point, trying to find a place where he didn't see Oikawa in his thoughts. Passing by the Gryffindor common room gave him an idea, a place where he was all the time, but was now associated with good things.

He walked even faster now, finally with a destination in mind.

Walking in the library felt like a breath of fresh air. Suga sighed and took a look around at the shelves filled with books, their colorful spines creating art on the walls. Suga walked towards the back of the room, where he had first met Daichi.
