YOUNG GENIUS VICTIM OF EXPERIMENT TRAGEDY
Six months ago the aspiring forensic scientist and prevalent local youth figure from our community, Felicity Powers, became the victim of science. 19 year old Powers was experimenting at Harvard University, where she studies, when her test backfired and gravely injured the young woman. Felicity was investigating the properties of the substance dimethylbutane when the mortar dish she was using suddenly combusted, spraying debris at the student. The toxic substance dissolved Powers' safety goggles and almost entirely destroyed Felicity’s eyes and eye sockets. Felicity has been in a comatose state since the accident and underwent several facial reconstruction surgeries during this time in an attempt to save her vision. Yesterday evening, after almost all hope of her recovery had been lost, Felicity miraculously awoke from her coma. As of yet the results of her surgeries have been withheld but we hope you will join in our prayers of success for this undeserving, exceptional pupil.
