I still remember the first time I laid my eyes on her. It was like a warm summer breeze suddenly blown through the church where my sisters' friends wedding took place.
Back then she kept her cobalt blue hair tied up in a messy bun and her figure was hugged by a simple green dress revealing her athletic legs. She looked out of place but yet she walked in front of the newlyweds so gracefully scattering flowers with this charming smile of her. She didn't seem to be bothered by the fact that she was the oldest flower girl and therefore a topic of some of the mumbled conversations.
I was sited somewhere in the middle of the church surrounded by people I haven't seen in awhile, some of them starring at me due to how much I changed. But it didn't matter to me because I just had eyes for the blue-haired girl as every move of her stunned me.
Then my sister stepped into my view and I gave her the thumbs up. She was maid of honour of her best friend and had been a nervous wreck the last couple of days due to just discovering that she is pregnant besides helping to plan the wedding. I was, besides her wonderful boyfriend Tom, her main anchor as I specifically took vacations to help her.
I had to admit that the marriage ceremony was very moving although I never really got all the fuss around weddings. But now that all was over I just wanted to be back in my apartment. I stood all by myself a little bit away from all the action dodging people and their stupid questions I wasn't ready to answer yet.
I took another sip of my sparkling wine as my eyes were wandering over the crowd looking for the blued haired girl without any success. Instead, I spotted my sister and some of her friends who all were walking up to me. Anxious about what was to come I smiled towards them and Sissy smiled back encouragingly.
„There is my beautiful sister", my sister kissed me on the cheek and some of her friends looked at me confused.
„You looked nearly as stunning as the bride," I swallowed the sudden fear about the comments that might come as I replied her. I knew that some of her friends knew me back in the day when I still was my old self.
I looked down shyly and suddenly she was next to me and grabbed me by my arm.
„You wanted to help me with something, don't you remember?", she smiled at me and I swear by God for a moment I thought she was an angle due to the light glowing behind her. As she pulled me away my sister smiled and winked at me.
„Thank you," I muttered towards her and she just smiled. Somewhere down in my stomach I felt butterfly wings.
„Don't thank me, thank your sister," she grinned at me: "she talked to me the other day and said you might are going to need saving. I am Louisa by the way, but please call me Lou."
I looked at her amazed.
„I am Johanna", I finally was able to say.
And that was how it all began.
