The door closes as a young man holds a large vibrating black bag

The door closes as a young man holds a large vibrating black bag. His name is James Everton and he's on a mission. A mission to deliver to lazy slobs. As he walks to his floating bike, James wipes the sweat off of his brow and slings the full-course meal he has in his humongous black dufflebag across his back.

The bag was engineered to keep food warm and beverages cold no matter what temperature it was outside. He jumped onto his bike, it scanned his face and started up. James smiled, this was his first job and he'd gotten his own bike. His resume was subpar and he hadn't known any of the answers his beautiful interviewer asked him, but he was still given the job. He found out the people before him had been scared away by his boss and that nobody wanted to work. Everything you need eats was a small business in his town that made quick full-course meals and delivered it to their customers. It was quite convenient and something you'd expect in the year of 2300.

They had flying cars, extended lifespans, and absolute laziness. Just what you'd expect from a world where needs and wants are handed out to you. James' bike floated up four feet and propelled forward into the busy intersection. He passed massive vehicles with families and friends having parties while the vehicle drove itself aimlessly. Leisure was a big part of society, all people did was eat what they wanted and entertain themselves. School was an option because all the information people needed was on their phones or if you were very rich, the chip in your wrist did even more.

James arrived at his destination, he parked his bike in the driveway of this very big house, he walked up to the door; it was one of those doors with the glass wear there were cool designs in it. He knocked and rang the doorbell and looked at the different shapes in the glass. The door opened up with a strong inward thrust as it revealed a very heavy-set man. He had long greasy hair and his shirt was covered in food and crusty residue from who knows what. James tried to smile and opened up his bag to show the man the food.

"You're twenty minuets late young man" the obese man said with a huff as if saying that sentence was too much of an effort. He held out his hands, reaching for the food he'd ordered. James felt a blast a of warm and cold air when he opened the bag, the vents inside stopped pumping the mixed temperature air when James reached for the 50 cheeseburgers and 2 ice cold 2-liter sodas. When James held up the food and beverages, the fat man thought better of grabbing the food himself and called out for his kids. "Adam! Sebastian! come grab this shit, dinner is here."

After he said that, he walked over and sat in his recliner in front of the hologram that was playing a show that the man clearly enjoyed more than his food. His two kids ran down the stairs and snatched the food out of James' hands and slammed the door in his face without giving a tip.

Shit like that really pissed off James. Not only were they rude, they didn't even tip him for going out of his way to deliver the food. Yeah, he was late; but you can't blame him for heavy traffic and people going as slow as possible. He hopped on his bike and blasted off. Literally, his engine shot out and burned a patch of the lawn of the former customer. He smirked and flew back to his job.

When he arrived, his boss was standing in front of the store with her arms crossed. James could tell he was in trouble, he stopped the engine and slowly walked up to her. Her name was Caroline and she had huge breasts and a huge temper. She was beet red from head to toe and as soon as James was in reach, she grabbed him by his ear and dragged him into the store, despite his screams for help, nobody was there to save him. She cornered him in the back of the store where all the food was processed. The machines were vibrating and creating food from the ingredients they were fed. Most of the food they delivered was processed and of low quality, but nobody really cared. Caroline looked him in the eyes in fury and slapped him.

"What'd I do?" James said, trying to dodge all of her attacks; she was surprisingly fast.

"Why are you always late to deliver? She asked finally calming down, she was now tapping her finger on the counter waiting for an answer.

"I can't control traffic, the people on the road are so inconsiderate." James said trying to stare her in the eyes and not her massive chest. She'd caught him multiple times and knocked him out every time. She was 19 and she was the daughter of the owner of the store. He was old and could only do the paperwork, so she was the real boss. All of the former people that worked under her had been scared away by her intensity and demand for perfection. So far, he was the longest lasting employee. A whopping 2 months he'd worked for her.

"Is that so?" She asked as if she was considering his excuse, he knew she didn't care, she wanted speedy and efficient deliveries with no complaints from customers. "Well, just take as many shortscuts and risky turns as possible to cut more time." With that, she whipped her long hair in his face and went to assess the machines and sales. He had to admit, she was really about her business, just too demanding. Before he could even sit down and rest, the notification for incoming orders rang. "Get to it!" He heard his boss yell, and he got busy.

He got his bag loaded and dashed out of the door. He got on his bike, scanned his face and blasted off into traffic, he heard horns giving warning honks as he cut them off and made risky turns. He reached a wooded area where he could cut through and shave off an extra 5 minutes. He flew through at an ungodly speed and dropped into the middle of the road. Cars screamed as they flew past his bike. He revved up and flew to the rest of his destination. He delivered the food 5 minutes early and the people were nice, Caroline would be happy with him. As soon as he got ready to leave, he got an alert on his phone. When he read the message, his heart sank. "Reports have said that there is a huge forest fire in the woods near Highway 67-f!"  James started sweating, Caroline was gonna kill him.
