Chapter 42

Y/n's P.O.V

“Daniel..” Taehyung growled, “Yes! Daniel.. Boss Daniel”

“I knew it was you right off the bat. What happened to the old Daniel who hates killing innocent people? Is he dead or he never existed? Was it all just a little roleplay to gain my trust?” -Taehyung

Daniel clapped his hands, laughing hysterically at the process, “Clever. Clever. I like the last part.. You see I'am still innocent Taehyung. I never killed innocent people”

“That's something” Taehyung scoffed. “Oh it's something alright,” Daniel started taking a step towards Taehyung but Taehyung didn't showed any reaction, he firmly stood there

One of Taehyung's men loaded a gun beside him but Taehyung placed his hand in front of his face, telling him to not shoot. Daniel stopped with a fair space between them

“I, Kang Daniel, is the true leader. Ever since you were locked up behind bars, I took control and acknowledged the power for being the boss. It was me Taehyung, I was supposed to be on the throne!”

“No one stole it from you, the golden prize was right in front of you yet you turn your back and look for a silver one.” -Taehyung

“No one stole it from me? Then what are you? Taehyung, you keep forgetting where you belong. This mafia blood never run in yours and it never will.. so why don't you just go visit your dead parents and--” He stepped too close that he got punched on his cheek

Daniel coughed and spit out the blood on the ground. He glare back at Taehyung with a sinister smirk and started laughing hysterically

An uncontrolled laugh and no one stopped him. We were all watching him, waiting for him to finish

He just had to bring Taehyung's painful past. The death of his parents scarred Taehyung the most and Daniel used it to trigger him

And it worked pretty well.

“You're nothing without my grandfather Taehyung.. You should respect him by showing respect to me!” I heard whispered from Chae and Jungkook but I didn't manage to clearly hear what they're talking about

I was too focus on Daniel. He was the one who helped me, saved me and told me the truth.. and seeing him acting like this still hasn't processed in my mind

Chae and Jungkook's whispers suddenly stopped. It was quiet in both our hiding place and outside.

“You came here for Y/n right? HA! GUESS WHAT?? SHE'S DEAD!”

I flinched. I was about to stand up and slap his face with my existence when Chae gripped my wrist. She shake her head, “Don't Y/n.”

“How are we going to help Taehyung? It's obvious that Daniel's men outnumbered Taehyung's!” I whispered, “Don't worry.. Jungkook and I have a plan”

“Tell me please” Chae looked through the bushes while Daniel was still blabbering things at Taehyung, “Jungkook are you ready?” the two exchanged nods.

Chae's grasp around my wrist unexpectedly tightened, making me feel like there's something off with these two

“Chae, Jungkook tell me your plan” I asked in a stern way, glaring at the two, “You know how to sneak and get some weapons right?” Jungkook asked

His eyes were reminding me the day I snuck inside his room without anyone--except for him-- noticing.

“Yes, I do.”

“Your lover is dead!! Dead! Dead! Dead!!” -Daniel

I'm sorry Taehyung.. Just stand his annoying voice a little more longer. He was doing a good job, after that one punch, Taehyung didn't do anything but glare at him

Keep that up Tae, keep stalling.

“Then let's go”

“Wait--”

Chae drag me out of the bush along with Jungkook. Our appearance made everyone's head turn towards us, their gun pointing at us

“Ah! Jessica..” Daniel left Taehyung to approach us

What is she doing?! Did she betrayed me again?!

“Chae what are yo--”

“Just stand still.” she whispered through her gritted teeth. My eyes landed on Daniel again, He was about to touch my chin when Jungkook slapped it away

“Get your dirty hands off of her”

“Jungkook.. You're talking to me as if we've never been friends before!”

“Grow up. That was before.. Ever heard of 'the present' ?” -Jungkook

I'am always in confusion! Why won't they tell me their plan?

I tried formulating my own plan in my head. It seems like Chae and Jungkook over here is betraying me once again and turn me over to Daniel

I've used a knife before.. but not a gun. All I have to do is load the bullet, Aim to your target and pull the trigger

“Oh Jungkook.. You make me laugh!”

I slowly step near Jungkook and saw the gun Chae handed him earlier. It was in his pockets, if I remember correctly

Jungkook loaded the gun but didn't used it earlier. So all is left to do is pull the trigger on Daniel

“Give me Y/n and we will win together Jessica!!” I abruptly stopped when he looked at Chae, still with wide smile

Why isn't she doing anything? Is she really going to turn me over?

Jungkook suddenly stepped closer to me, his gun now much nearer on my hand and Daniel still hasn't notice

Just take your time Y/n.. If you panic and this gun falls on the ground.. You're dead.

“Hey, Can you give us some time to think?” Jungkook protected me from him, “What do you mean think? Jessica's on my side! Jessica, I'm sure Juu and Chua will be happy to see you!!”

Chae sighed deeply, her grip around my wrist loosened

Come on.. Just a little more and I can get the gun!

I touched the handle of the gun and Jungkook flinched in front of me

Shoot.. He noticed.. But he let me take it

I wrapped my right hand around the gun

“Go Y/n!!” Chae was about to kick Daniel on his stomach but he swiftly dodged. He grabbed her leg and threw her back to the bush

“Chae!!” I shockingly looked up at Daniel but what was more shocking is the scene happening behind him..
