Lost Boy (Calum Hood fanfic)

Chapter 1

"Bye mum, bye dad." I hug them for the last time. "Look a bit after your brother my girl." My dad kisses me on the cheek. I never saw him crying, but I can tell he's struggling. My mum on the other hand isn't afraid to show her feelings and tears are streaming down her face. Though I'll only leave for a month, I can understand her. Her two children are suddenly on the other side of the world, while Ry is 19 and I'm only 17. I hate seeing my mum like this, and I know she also is afraid I might fall in love there and that I won't return anymore. I feel tears coming up and I snuggle into my mums sweater for the last time. "Goodbye mum, don't worry, I'll be fine. We'll just Skype everyday, and Ry will look after me. And I won't fall in love, except if 5SOS will walk bye, but that chance is one in a million." She smiles. "Goodbye love, text us if you've landed save." I kiss them both, wave for the last time and then dissapear behind the security.

When I get into the plane, I quickly send a messages to Ry before we have to turn our phones off. "Hii Ry, the plane is almost ready for take off, I see you in 24 hours. xxx Lu." A teenage girl takes her seat next to me. I grab my headphones, put them on, and my IPod starts playing 'What I like about you' by 5 Seconds of Summer. I turn up the volume a bit, not wanting to talk to the girl next to me. I look outside when the plane takes off. I never really was a huge fan of flying, but when I look through the window, while my music is playing, I kinda forget the fact I'm 3000 kilometres above the ground, having a chance of 5% to crash into a million pieces.

The girl next to me wakes me up from my thoughts by tapping me on the shoulder. I remove my headphones of one ear and I raise my eyebrow. "Hello, my name is Ashley. Could you maybe turn down your volume a bit? I can't really concentrate on my book." I grump, but not wanting to cause any trouble, I turn down the volume a bit. But just as I'm about to put my headphone back on, she starts talking again. Ugh, great. Just what I wanted. "I'm 17 and I'm heading back home. I travelled through the UK and Ireland for a half year. What's your name and why are you heading to Australia?" Ah, she's the chatty type, great. "I'm Lucy, also 17 years old and I'm going to travel through Australia for a month. My brother is already there, so we're continueing together. I'm supposed to meet him at Sydney airport." "Oh, how wonderful!" she squeales. "I live in Sydney, I could show you around the town if you want to?" I sigh, I'm not in the mood for this at all. "Er... yeah, we'll see about that later, if you don't mind, I start listening to my music again." She looks a bit disappointed but she quickly gets a smile on her face again. "What are you listening to?" I roll my eyes, does this kid have a turn off button or what? "Oh, just a band. They're a bit punk-rock." "Oh okay, you know there's also a band from Sydney called 5 Seconds of Summer, but I think they suck really hard." "You suck." I say before turning my head away and putting my music back on. Well done Lucy, well done.

Ashley haven't spoken to me anymore, and when we're landed, I quickly get out of the plane. Phieuw, I'm happy I don't have to see that face ever again! I napped a bit during the flight, but 24 hours is a lot, and I feel tired. *Beep beep* I open my phone to see I recieved a message from Ry: "Hey Lu, I'm waiting at gate 8, see you soon! x" I grab my luggage and walk towards gate 8.

When I see Ry I start running. It was so quiet at home without him! When I finally reached him I sling my arms around his neck. "Ry!" I squeal. "Hi Lu, how was your flight?" "It was okay, except a annoying girl in the seat next to me, but it was okay." He smiles. "C'mon, I met a lot of new friends here and I can't wait to introduce them to you. One of them drove me here, he's waiting outside." He helps me with my luggage when we walk to the exit. We start talking about mom and dad, and he tells me about what a beautiful country Australia is. It's so weird to realize I'm in the same city as 5SOS right now. I quickly send a message to my parents: "Hi mum and dad, I had a good flight and I landed save, me and Ry are heading to the hostel right now. Lots of love from the both of us. xxx" At least they don't have to worry anymore.

When we get to the car I put my luggage in the car, and a handsome looking guy gets out of the car. "Hello, you must be Lucy! I'm Alex, nice to meet you." When I shake his hand I observe him from head to toe. He has blonde, short hair and deep brown eyes. He's also very tall, almost 2 heads bigger than me. Okay I admit I'm a bit small, but he really is big. Ry and I both hop into the car and Alex starts driving to the hostel they're staying at. When they are chatting about their adventures so far, I watch the beautiful landscape flashing past me.

Australia, here I come!
