*tick tick*
A strange ticking against my window is waking me up. I yawn, climb out of my bed and walk towards the window. When I open my curtain, I see the reason of the ticking. My best friend is standing in my garden, throwing rocks at my window.
"Louis, what the heck are you doing?" I laugh. "Can I come in? I have some awesome news!" I nod. I quickly grab my sweatpants and rush downstairs to let him in.
Louis has been my best friend for over 5 years now. I always went to football matches of the Doncaster Rovers together with my dad and my two little brothers. I always saw Louis when I went to the toilet during half time, he stood there, ordering food, like always. At that one day, I wanted to walk back to my chair, when he suddenly dropped his hotdog in front of my feet. I couldn't help but laugh. I bought him a new hotdog along with other food and that's how we became friends.
When Lou is settled on our couch, he starts telling me the big news. "Okay, so... You know I love singing right?" I nod. Beside playing football Louis just loves singing, and to be honest, he's got an amazing voice! "So, I signed up for the X-Factor!" My mouth just drops wide open. Louis in the X-Factor? Of course I'm happy for him but... What if he gets through? What if he leaves for months, gets famous and just forgets about me? Oh, stop being so selfish Sarah. I hide my worries behind a big smile before I pull him into a hug. "Congrazt Louis! I'm so excited! When do you have to start?" "Well, I have to go to the studio in three days, but first I have to get through the pre-auditions before I can go to the auditions on telly." I hug him again, but when he pulls back from our hug he looks at me when he says: "Erm... I also kinda..." He chuckles a bit nervously, "I might have signed you up as well." I freeze. He what?! I love singing but I'm not that good! And the only one I sang for is Louis!
"YOU DID WHAT?" I jump up. "How could you? You are so good, but what about me hmm? I'm even frightend to sing in front of relatives, don't even talk about strangers! So you are expecting me to audition in three days? THREE FUCKING DAYS TOMMO?" Although I try to sound as angry as possible, Louis just sits there, smiling like an idiot. "What are you smiling about?" He chuckles when he says: "You look so funny when you're mad." I sigh when I sit down next to him again. "Oh Louis, what am I supposed to do with you?" "I do know what I have to do with you." He smiles before he starts tickling me and I end up on the ground with Louis on top of me.
When we're done play fighting, he pulls me up on the couch again and he throws his arm around me. "But seriously Sarah, you are an amazing singer! You can do this! It would be such a waste of your talent when you don't grab this chance! We're in this together and Ross and Tommo will take over the X-Factor!" I chuckle when I hit him against his shoulder. "Hmm, okay Tommo, but just because we're a team." He smiles and we head off to a local cafe to get some sandwiches and a nice cup of tea.
