I was at a house party at one of my friends when I got a call from my mum. She said that she was going to be late and asked if I could make dinner tonight.

I’ve lived my entire life with my mother and she has been the most caring person I’ve ever seen. Even now when I’m 23, I live with her to help her out. This might be the best life I could live right now. I work a normal day job and she’s an assistant nurse at a hospital in town. She cooks, I clean. She does the laundry and I do the dishes. I couldn’t ask for a better life than living with my mum so happily.

I agreed immediately, “Yea sure mum. You just make sure you’re home safe, or gimme a call when you’re about to leave. I’ll come pick you up.”

I left the party and was on my way home. My friend lived a couple stations away. On the subway I felt like going to the toilet. I opened the door and there wasn’t anyone, a common thing as it was late already. But there was one person. He was tall, unusually tall. He was just standing there in a corner, facing the wall, doing nothing.

“Aye Buddy! You okay there? Need something?” I asked him like a friend. Maybe he wanted to go somewhere and didn’t have the money for the ticket.

Nothing, he said nothing. I ignored thinking he was just someone messing or maybe someone with some metal condition.

Into the train I was standing even though there were seats to sit. Outside, in the dark, I saw a glimpse of someone standing in the middle of nowhere. Someone tall, in a suit, staring at me.

“Whooh! It's been a while since I’ve had drinks. I’m seeing things now hehe.” I always was that cheerful one.
I got down at my destination and felt the urge to pee again. Maybe it was because of the soda I drank too much. Here the subway was a bit more crowded. I opened the door and went in. I saw him again!

The same man I saw in the toilet at the last station. Same height, same balck suit, doing the same thing! Standing in the corner, doing nothing. I thought it was just a coincidence and didn’t care much as there were enough people out there. Just in the middle of peeing, I heard muffled chuckles. It was him. Now I was pissed. I went staring for him.

“Aye cuz! You got a problem dawg!? Huh!?” I grabbed his shoulder and turned him around and fell on the floor holding my scream. He had no face! Just a mouth! All stitched up! Smiling, like a Maniac!

Just when I was about to get up and make a run, the door opened and a bunch of 19 year olds got in. They all seemed to have a good time and were not bothered at all by the man or whatever it was standing there. I got up and asked them if they could see the man standing there.

It was that moment I realized, they couldn’t see me either!
